I don't think that Ricki has really settled for 1-0 . It must be a pain for him that team yet again are not able to get a second goal in a game. We really need to improve on our Goal for and the overall Goal Difference in the table.

Yip.  As much as I like Ifill, he'd be struggling to sleep right now.

And how many of those scottish clubs will need to start 5 of those internationals?  Was it 30C in Japan and near 40C equivalent allowing for humidity?  Plus the coach travelling?  Plus only three subs bench allowed?    And a squad size as small as the Phoenix?  Plus the opposition has no players affected?  It has to be a factor.

Lots of teams played internationals in the last week you realise? I'm sure many teams in the EPL and SPL had 6 or more players on international duty in various parts of the globe, all of whom will be playing today.

Herbert obviously didn't think they were overly affected given his team selection and substitutions.

Ifill was massive in the 2nd half - it looked like he was desperate to make amends for those two 1st half misses by running himself into the ground. What a great signing he's turned out to be.

He was shown trying to get the team to push further forward quite animatedly (is that a word) late in the 1st half.  I'm sure the plan isn't to sit back.

It may not be the plan, but it is what is constantly happening, so why is he not doing something about it? Why are the players not listening to the manager?

Yes I know, but really we just need to give Chen a bit of gametime to increase his match fitness. It would be nice for Greenache to just sit down for a tick and watch how the game progress. It's not as tho he is getting much ball at feet in the first 20 minutes. Have Greenache come on after 20 minutes when Chen gets tired and the intensity will shift.

I just have a feeling that with Carece replacing Daniel in the Midfield, the ball might reach Chen first because of his different running pattern may naturally suit that link. When Greenache come on, Carece will tempo up his creative game by then and the defenders have to readjust for Greenache and it will open up for Carece, Ifill and even Greenache to open a goal chance. This present a better chance for a few goals, then much later in the game. Bertos will also have a different person to target and make him more aware of making the passes rather than shooting himself.

That's deliberate isn't it? He causes some heartache

Does anyone know what the extent of Daniel's injury is? I thought he had a pretty good game overall until he went off.

If you sack Ricki who will replace him? I can't really think of anyone with his passion. Maybe Stu Jacobs but I don't know about you but I am not too keen on having him as our coach.

I think there's a guy called Frank Farina available. Very experienced. Not sure in what.

Daniel had the ice pack on the back of the knee. If it very serious, they would have taken him off to the hospital straight away.

I wouldn't expect Daniel to start next week, but hopefully not an extended injury break.

There isn't much you can do urgently in the hospital for a hyperextension of the knee other than ice packing it immediately and ramming some painkilling drugs for the first 24 hours. Then the physio/massage work for the next number of weeks. Hopefully with some water running etc to retain his fitness can be done during the time.

It's all coming true, we're gonna draw to the top lads!

Sadly missed the game, was looking forward to seeing Chen play.

We will never fully decide who has won the football.

How annoying are those so called 'expert analysts' Bosnich and Slater. We go wanting good analysis at half time and all they do is laugh and talk about how bad the fury were playing! then at the end of the game all they can say is that the goal should have stood if Mcbreen had scored! Waste of space, both of them. Backs up what I've been saying about just because you've been a great player than doesn't automatically make you a great analysis.

Mike Cockill and Paul trimboli were pretty fair on both times though, I thought. Enjoy them both actually

I think that in most games this season we have deserved to win so the draws didn't really bother me too much because I figured it would click one day. Unfortunately we seem to be regressing instead of moving forward.

they've got three of next four games at home. If we don't get two out of four wins then I think the knifes should come out. for now, I'll give them the travel factor this week.

I was gutted at our first draw, pissed off with the second, surprised with the third, shocked at the 4th, mildly perplexed at the 5th and now quite subdued about a 6th. Roll on the 7th draw and another emotion, I've got 84 to go

PS. I'm picking laughing

A bit of perspective!

Half our team played the game of their lives in 30-odd degrees of heat just last week, have had to travel to the other side of the world and back and now turn out in 25 degrees tonight. Is it any wonder we ran out of legs in the 2nd half?

I'm pissed off we couldn't hold on for the win but we could easily have lost that game.

The question has to be why did they go back to Wellington and not straight on to Townsville or where ever the frick they were..?

My 2 guesses are.. Cost, and the fact that the players have families they probably want to spend time with.

Hey Royal those Bertos stepovers at the begining of the match reminded me of your Avatar when the guy booted the ball away, Bertos should have dived to make it complete.

When was the last game we won by more than one goal? At least it wasn't a last minute loss but my sense of dread got worse throughout the second half when we couldn't hold on to the ball and allowed the Fury to just attack us constantly.

**WARNING** **CONTROVERSIAL**

I thought Troy didn't look too bad at RB and I thought he offered us a bit more attacking options at fullback than Manny does. Trade off is Manny is a better actual defender

I agree, he was better on attack then Muscat is. But if he wasn't that would be very disappointing.wellyphoenixfan2009-10-18 20:02:31

and on attack is wasted at the back on the right...he was a real attacking force in the forward line and on the wing last season when he was in form.

not sure if this is in an all whites thread but that match is a great example of what the all whites need to be careful of.... by trying to play to protect a lead the nix lost control of the game and were lucky to get a point... if the same happens against bahrain and he score is 1-1 then we are gone...

I'm sure you can't accuse them of protecting a 1-0 lead. I'd say it was more a case of unable to make it 2-0 or 3-0 when we could have. Not like the game against the furries here when I would say sitting back cost them dearly.
