Meh. Victory fans have the attention span of goldfish and we won't be there for a fortnight.

All a joke Hard On, Haak's Melb based, was said in that context.

PS - Sydney will be tough at home. You boys are on the road from now on, and they'll be fired up.

OK.  I have  a confession.  Junior Junior got his Wgtn Til I Die T on Saturday and has virtually worn it all the time.  He didn't want to wear lucky stripey for the match and ended up wearing WTID to the match.

My rationale was that as i am 4.5 times older than him, my lucky Nx City T would out mojo his non-wearing of stripey.

I think this may have played a part in going to extra time, but now he has two lucky tops.

Dam , I said they would win 3-1 too, I should've bet lol ... does anyone know what they were paying for a 3-1 exact score bet?

The exact score is draw 1-1. NOT 3-1 ( extra time )

I was waiting for someone to mention the Mexican wave! I thought a Mexican wave was something you do at the cricket or rugby when nothing is happening, which is quite often. Last night it was too exciting on the pitch for that carry on. Nice to see the Fever seats not participate!

What is our record like in Sydney?

What a fantastic game. Watched it with my women's football team on MySky. Had to keep explaining the finals draw, to general confusion.

I see what people mean about Lia keeping giving possession away, but what was it that Dewhurst said after our first goal: "Jetlag? What jetlag?!?" Leo played 70-odd minutes, Siggy, Brownie and Lochhead 120 minutes each, and they did the job. Billy Harris's whinge in the SST seems churlish in retrospect.

Work is bollocks this morning. Going to be a lot of foruming to get me through. At least I'm in early so I can knock off early and go back to bed.

Our record was good in Sydney until this season, I think we beat them once each in the previous two seasons over there, both 2-1. But this season we've been pumped, one we hung on until quite late on and then fell apart, the other we were reasonably outclassed but it could have been different if Daniel hadn't missed that penalty retake.

Oh and we lost 1-0 at Palmy late last year.

Fantastic game in every way. Thanks to the team, YF, Terry, Rikki and everybody who made the result what it was. We talked to a couple of Jets fans in the 'Bencher- good on 'em for making the trip. The Jets were worthy opponents, never stopped fighting and played their hearts out. Fantastic how they clapped the Zone on the way out; thanks for making it such a great game lads. I predicted this result in another thread BTW- I've now been right six from the last seven!

How the hell do we get to Sydney?

Nostalgia isnt what it used to be...........

FANTASTIC game, brilliant atmosphere - cannot believe that there were 32,000+ people there for a Nix game - briliant.

But there needs to be some expectation set about sitting/standing. I've never sat at a football match in my life and don't intend to so if you are in the vicinity of 19/20/21 you should expect to be standing up. All we had was a bunch of whinging golfers sat behind us moaning as Rickis Chickies get their flesh out at 90+20 mins :-) For the record the ladies numbers had swelled this week with more elaborate bra action and a fully functioning banner.

I never though i'd see the day at a Nix match when there is a Q for the LADIES bogs !

Part of an article from the smh...says it all...

http://www.smh.com.au/sport/a-league/muscat-catches-the-sky-blues-napping-and-theyll-need-eyes-wide-open-to-stop-the-phoenix-20100307-pqn5.html

Whatever the case, this was another epic semi-final in a series that has provided more than its fair share of drama. Four out of the five matches have gone to extra time, underlining just how tight the title race has been. After yesterday there's just three teams left standing. Melbourne have a fortnight's break. They've earned it. Sydney FC do battle with Wellington Phoenix back at Moore Park next Saturday night for the right to join them in the grand final. That's not going to be a simple task for the Sky Blues, for the Phoenix are the team that had the most momentum going into the play-offs, and they haven't let it slip.

Of the four teams that did battle yesterday, Wellington produced the best football. They needed to in order to see off a courageous Newcastle Jets side. They won't be fazed by the prospect of taking on Sydney FC on their own turf to continue rewriting history.

If people moan, just do it anyway, dont back down. Inform them that it is the FZ and it is expected in here,if they want to go to security then let them, because id expect security to tell them the same thing. (one would hope)
Believe it or not,its happened to me with standing, they went and told on me,only to be told "ummm its kind of expected in this aisle"Tegal2010-03-08 12:38:20

Is this saying something about Ifill's and Dadi's intentions? (not the cute kids, the flag)

Daniel grabbed the flag from the crowd at the end of the game and draped himself in it.  So it's more his intentions than the two others.

TVNZ well and truly jumped on the bandwagon yesterday, Bradwell at the Bencher doing some pre-match filming but was there an hour to early and then Saville broadcasting live from the Stadium.

Yea,

I can't take credit for it - Dave "jambo" McKinlay sent it to me this morning from Scotland after reading Culina's whining ...

... but I thought it was excellent.

Maybe the next time we play them !

Nah the security guard came down and got all grumpy wit hus then stood there for 10 minutes. Strangely he didn't notice part of the general problem was 15 people squeeeeeezed into 10 seats

Wow wow wow. What a great time !! My boy and I were in our usual seats , wearing our lucky stripies and we'd parked in our lucky car park. And ,his passport arrived on Saturday.  Guess where we're going next weekend
I thought Dura and Muscat were immense , Dura especially.Lockhead got cought out a couple of times  but was expertly covered by Dura.Lia was poor , especially with his ball retention and silly passes  , but he has played well lately.Initially I thought Muscat's was a bad miss but on the big screen replay , credit has to go to Kennedy for closing him down well. Daniel was a big  plus , as was Diego when he came on.
Best thing for me: when Jets went one-nil up ,YF round to aisle 16 ( where we sit) went up as one with Come on Phoenix .Second best - the young lovely next to me who kept jumping up and down all game. Football nearly got in the way of the entertainment.
Off to book a place to stay.

Anyone know when a replay will be on Sky? The Tards vs Sydney match is on this afternoon, but no idea when the Nix match will be replayed
