that was poor... and can hardly take any positives out it either.
although I think costa does play confidently.. although he wasnt the spark we all wanted he was better than kwasnik. daniel is better than gao. not quite as skillfull or as quick but has passion and is composed. ferrante did well. maybe a replacement for brown?!
and my boy mossy can come back.
sad performance boys. not worth staying up for having scool tomorrow.

Disagree with that. Consistently the players have not performed this season and they have already admitted that once this year.
If the horse only runs on 3 legs and leaves it heart in the barn, you can't expect it to win the race....

We were promised Joel Porter. Kwasnik was option B, and he has looked poor. where are the two other out and out strikers in the squad? And why haven't they been tried?
Draper needs to be in the mix ahead of Covs. We can't carry attacking players who can't shoot or tackle.
Smeltz has given up on carrying us. Lochhead has looked lethargic. No one else can do it.
edit: what I mean is do Tony or Terry have questions to answer there as well?
Brockie would be better than no-one.

I could run with your horse analogy but I'm too pissed off to try. Ricky in my opinion has been making sh*t squad choices for quite a while now and his use of subs is pretty average as well. Why he persists with Gao who acts like a baby 95% of the time and Coveny who should be in a home is beyond me.
Agree, we have barely scored a goal in weeks, and yet he persists with the same front two, oe of whom hasn't even come close to scoring a goal this season!

That was just unbelievably frustrating to watch. Can't help but feel angry after that performance.
Bertos, Sigmund, Dodd and Ferrante were the only guys who played with any heart. If only we could pass it around more instead of hoofing it forward... and if only we could shoot.

yeh, have to agree that Ferrante has looked to be the starter ahead of Brown. Could there be a case for McKain, Brown and Ferrante in the mid. With Ferrante playing forward mid or behind the striker?

I wouldn't be too quick to put the knife into Smeltz. He was man marked out of the game. Can't do piss all with that when he was on form and teams have targetted him to have 2 defenders on him. That and no service.
I also don't think he has gone yet so again, wouldn't stick the knife in as humble pie doesn't taste that great.

This kind of guff also doesn't persuade ANY new fans along to the game either - $30 a ticket is steep enough compared to rugby, so people aren't going to watch a losing 'soccer' team for that price. I really hope they get the finger out or football in NZ could be dead in the water before we know it, and that would be sad.

Yeah fair enough. He could have done better, but at least he wanted it. It's so frustrating seeing the players going through the paces and doing the minimum required just to pick up their pay at the end of the week when you know they are capable of so much more.

They are so slow to get the ball into scoring positions that the opposition always have plenty of players back and when we do get it forward quickly we turn and pass back.
I really do question wheather Ricki has the skill to coach the team in the attacking half of the field.
How many shots did we have?
When was the last time we scored more than 2 goals?
Why can't we take corners?
