Ricki certainly wont be coaching liverpool.
I read an interesting article the other day (in London Evening Standard) that had Ricki Herbert as the lowest paid Coach at the WC at 25k. Capello gets paid 6m. He does deserve ai bigger opportunity, if its in the UK he'd be stoked/lucky to get a championship team.

On opporunities for AW players post WC- I think only the young guys will benefit (Winston Reid and maybe Tommy Smith).
I saw someone in a separate thread say "surely Rory Fallon will be picked up by a bigger club"- not likely. He plays here week in week out for Plymouth, other clubs no how he plays, theyre not going to offer a contract on the basis of a spirited showing for NZ.

That might have been me who picked that Fallon would go on to bigger things. I've said that prior to the World Cup as I thought he'd be one player to impress for us at the World Cup. As it turned out his elbows and poor refereeing kept him from shining. I still think he's a talent who may go further, but he didn't have the World Cup I hoped he would.

On the other hand I would definitely not be surprised if Smith and Reid get offers from top league clubs. I'm not sure whether any of the Nix boys will be getting any offers, although Paston was brilliant.

Soz but I just don't rate Lochy. I think his chances of getting picked are lower than the others mentioned.

He may be a great servant for the Nix, but I find he makes a higher number of errors than the other players in the team in internationals. Especially v Slovakia.

Don't get me wrong, great player in the A-league, just maybe not in a higher overseas league?

My opinion.

Course, I been wrong about plenty in my lifetime, and will be plenty more.

I'd love to see guys like Elliot get a contract, it proves the Cup provides exposure and boosts careers.

In games like we have been playing, there must be huge exposure!
Reid, Smith and Wood are doing their future careers maximum boostage IMHO. They are all so young and playing awesome!

Very generous on a mediocre player...is worth his while at Nix as he is the only left footed player (defender) we have, therefore the balance is affected when he's not there, but he's far from great

You're 'aving a laugh.

Lochy is the greatest player the world has ever seen. Are you blind ?

forget Pele, Ronaldo. Lochy sh*ts on them all.

Exactly. Lochhead has never lost a world cup game.

Just GCW's sense of humor. I guess you had to watch the show to get it. But yeah, they were taking the piss.

That would make a lot of sence if true. Reid can play under ryan nelson. Thats good for the AW future plans. Thats only if it happens and rumours true

Having two Kiwis at Blackburn would greatly increase their appeal as an EPL choice for NZers without affiliation. If the signing occurs, they should play a match in NZ to capitalize on that. With Nelsen being from Chch and Reid being from Auckland, the fairest option would be to play in Wellington

Wow.

You may have seen the show and the context around it, but those that only saw a short tweet from CGW on Twitter saying "Ricki to coach Liverpool - please Retweet (ie. pass it on)" with no other information can't 100% be taken at face value to be a joke.

Pretty lame and I suspected it wasn't quite right hence I didn't pass it on as requested.

Surely if you followed him on twitter, you would kind of know what kind of guy he is.

Pretty funny that it fooled some people.

Allegedly
