We all knew it was going to be a tough game. We just happen to strike a team on a decent CWC build up to their rematch against the Japanese team. They will murder Waitakare United in the CWC on the way too.
Nevertheless, you would be thoughtless not to consider that Adelaide will be Grand Finalist and also maybe winning their second CWC match. Their best player wasn't on the park in the game from what I heard.

There was nothing wrong with Paston, he played fine. Moss on the other hand was out of position for both of Cassio's goals (once I would let him off with it, but twice FFS!) - he was too far to the right of the goal, it's not like both shots went right in at the post!

That's very harsh on Moss, he has to guard the near post more given the angles involved. But I think he could have reacted a bit qicker on the 4th goal, that was a bit closer and not hit as hard. But to blame him for it would be churlish. Also, with the first goal, I felt Paston reacted a bit late (possibly because he saw the ball late too), but still don't think he can blamed for the goal.
Overall I think they both did as well as they could considering what was going on in front of them.

it was, as has already been said, going to be a tough game, we just made it tougher by playing poorly. Unfortunately the Wellington inconsistency bug has struck the nix - this is something we need to shake if we want to do well in the coming years - or for that matter the next 8 (12 hopefully) games.

Wow there are some angry people on here.
Arsenal was just trying to have a bit of fun as everybody was so fired up about the result.
Paston, Moss and Smeltz were the only players who should have got above a rating of 3 for me.

Two highlights in that game for me:
Paston playing on with that chest injury and still saving our asses a number of times
Ferrante's pearler of a shot, if only it was a few inches lower

I think Durante was the player for me who summed up the effort by the Phoenix defense in the Adelaide game.
Every time he ran back to cover the wide player, he made little or no effort to even stick a foot out to try and block a shot at goal. Even if it's a vain effort, it at least shows the defender is giving a damn about trying to stop a goal.
Paston was a legend for playing on as long as he did with a rib injury, considering most of those result in the lessened ability to breathe.
Bertos tried hard, and I think got a few rough calls against him, the rest of the team were rather MIA.
Ferrante loves firing those missiles from out of the box .. must be about the 3rd time he's hit the top cross bar with one this season. Inches away.
