That list intrigues me a bit - some are clear indications of Italiano not valuing them any more (Ball and maybe Al-Taay). Unsure how Rojas is an example of an unhappy dressing room - he's leaving cos he was injured all season. Wootton and Sutton possibly leaving for "issues with the management style" or they jus got a better offer than the Nix were prepared to match - particularly in Wootton's case with a 3 year deal. (huge at his age)
I would be very surprised if moving to Perth would be considered by two first team (not just also-ran squaddies) defenders came without a significant financial incentive. The club might have been asked "are you prepared to match that?" but maybe not.
Considering Perth thinks Sutton is good enough to be an import, you'd have to think they rate him very highly and would reward him accordingly.
Yep, Gill pretty much said they weren't prepared to offer Wooten three years. Were probably still feeling the pain of the Ball situation.
Signing Wootton for 3 years is bad business by any team. CB's can definitely play till they're a lot older but I can definitely see Wootton getting slowly worse each year. Someone like Damien De Silva who was still great in the league between 35-36 is the type of profile that I can think would still do well in the A-League at that age as his peak was at such a higher level than a player like Wootton.

Chiefy's burned through a whole squad of players - only Rufer and Payne remain from our Semi Final last year, and the whole backroom staff. Only consistents are Chiefy, Domey and Gilly, another poor season ahead might mean at least 2/3 will need to fall on their swords.

Another reason to be more excited about the 26/27 season than next year is it will be our 20th season and would imagine they will want both teams performing to their very best.

I would imagine Chiefy will be on a short rope next season. Hopefully they recruit well, have a good preseason and have a good start to next season. If its goes belly up then probably he will get sacked midseason and Greenacre? maybe takes over. If we have another crap season Chiefy and Gill should go. Greenacre as coach and Ifill as director of football would be ok by me.
You don't need qualifications to be a "sporting director", it is barely a real job

He is currently managing the second best side in Wellington, though I'm not convinced coaching Central League should qualify him to coach in the A-League. He has reached the top level of the amateur game in NZ as a coach (albeit not on paper).
