Apart from a couple of biggish names at the top end all they have done is spread the Australian player base thinner.  You can't tell me 46 players have arrived in the A-League at a standard above last years average.

Yep, once it starts the comp will be a lot hotter this year.

Some teams at the moment look pretty thin. Adelaide is far weaker at this point than they were last season with numerous players leaving/retiring. Still some time to go, but we are slowly refining our squad which other teams have had longer to do (we still have some players from the inital squad which was put together far quicker than the new teams so it does take time to refine the squad)

Looks pretty good, although we definately need someone who can hold a ball up in the final third.

Remember that 6th best or up will get us through to play-offs, but I don't know enough about other team's recruiting to know if there are 4 sides worse off than us at the moment.

Lets not aim for sixth already. Please.

well guys......some of your potential team lineups dont exactly make me think that we will do too well this season...look at what playing one striker got us...f***all    not scoring goals equates to not winning matches

I agree 100%.... I mean who plays with 1 striker these days... only small sh*tty clubs like Chelsea, Liverpool, Barca. sh*t teams.

Agree and disagree. Firstly watch your language. You dont have to swear everytime you wanna make a point. Because it doesnt work.

Barca does play more of a 4-3-3 or atleast Henry and Eto'o stay put, sometimes Messi roams.  Anyway, the reliability on 1 striker is only effective when they receive good service of the ball. Smeltz really rocked last season for the amount of good touches through he got.

If we can get some serious service to Greeny then it could work - but id be happier with two.

One striker works well for the clubs mentioned, but they have ridiculously good midfielders. We don't. One striker hasn't worked well for us.

Hes a toon fan, maybe he thought we would sign Joey Barton, in which case he would definetly be off after about 20 mins.
