I'd also like to point out that when I said I'd like to catch up with Williams in Wellington, it was for some verbal abuse, nfot physical. Not sure why some thouht I meant that. But I'm chilled out now, we got a point despite Williams best efforts.

Never thought you meant physical for one minute ( we really need smileys). but if we can't get 10k at Westpac the next time that prick referees here we never will...

Kewell's comments after the game about bad defending....... get fcked ct

Thank god we got a point from that, it would have been a travesty to lose given the way we played and the incompetence of the ref.

Why he let Kewell get onto him I have no idea - he booked others for dissent.

By and large I thought we played very well, but Lia certainly gave it away plenty and Cunningham was a bit quiet. Krishna and Timmins were great I thought, as was Boxall.

Yeah Boxall to the centre. It's easy to forget he is actually a CB

i think i would be happier if it came out that Heart had actually paid Ben Williams because it would provide some sort of reasonable  explanation for that performance, but unfortunately general incompetence is the likely reason. Can't wait for the Petone Arena so he will be able to hear the apt descriptions of his performance as he defecate's around the park

Great performance by the boys. I have never been more proud of my team against all odds. Never have i seen such blatant biasm by a referee. Come on phoenix. Atleast we got a point, we have to beat newcastle next week

Well said, although I'm not sure what a biasm is. Maybe like an aneurysm you get from watching shit referees ruin your chance of three points.

Biasm: The climax-like spasms of awe a ref has when he has any decision to make involving Harry Kewell.

um...I beg to differ.

Imo, clearly a case of mono ocularosis.....possibly.brought on by staring for too long at the sunlight shining out of Kewell's angus.

Agree - an amazing display and good discipline today - silly by Siggy for the first one should have stayed away as the first touch was not good and Moss had it covered but the second was a joke.

Kewells penalty was atrocious he leaned on Manny then fell over - a blatant act.

Dura was too kind with his summary after the match -hould have called Kewell out saying something like ' thought he was better than that'

Boxall gets better every week!

Man the Heart really suck bad. Can't beat a team missing 8 players through injury who are reduced to 10 men, even when the ref gives you every favour imaginable. What a pack of losers

You need to get you head out of your arse.
And you need to check your attitude. What exactly pissed you off so much about that comment (which was a joke by the way)?

Really a joke. Just a stupid comment. My attitude is that i hate dick heads. People like Buffy.
Ironically, having that attitude makes you come across like a dickhead.

Just to clarify, on a thread that contained references to kicking puppies, deliberately breaking legs, and assaulting the referee, you thought that my comment was the one worth calling out?

Calling a team losers just shows lack of class.

Wonder if they could have been prevented by having a decent referee that has upset us all?

Was pleased to see the team still try and play football after the sending off. The nix of old would have folded like a deck of cards. Thought Heart would have got a last minute winner after all the going on's but thankfully the linesman was doing his job.

Would like to know why HK was not booked for dissent in the 1st half for having a go at the linesman as my understanding is the FFA want to stop this happening in games?

Extremely proud of the team tonight and I reckon that was the most satisyifn point the team has earned in their history.

You dare challenge God? An amazing player whom found time to ref the match as well. Telling Williams what to do every step of the way.

Kind of disappointed to see Siggy criticised by some for supposedly dumb play. If it hadn't been for a rubbish ref and two highly accomplished circus tumblers in Kewell and David Williams he would be on the park against the Jets next week. Boxall is a decent replacement but Siggy has been in top form and we will really miss him.

Two HAL refs. O'Leary and Williams.
Mind you I thought O'Leary had a good game Friday night and can see why. Williams..... hmmm. You would think that someone at FIFA would keep monitoring these guys and put a red line through his name.

To be fair Jeff Peter has had some right mares as well, especially against the Knights and I for one do not believe for one second that he is NZs top ref, same applies for Ben in 'Straya's case.

Kewell had a good game not past it.

To be honest I have no problem with the way Kewell went down, yes it was soft but there was still contact and thats what good players do.

What annoys me was the fact the contact first occured outside the box, if it was a foul in the refs eyes it should have been just out side the box and not where Kewell fell.

The ref had a terrible game and everything would have been so different had kisnorbo been caught out and sent off. Terrible miss by all officials.

Is Kewell an obnoxious prick? Well yes he does come across as that. Have not met the bloke nor am I likely to ever do so. Is he a diving prick? Well again he probably is but he is certainly not alone in that and the same criticism or more for diving should also be levelled at our own Carlos and Kenny, both of whom have won us penalties this year with probably even less contact than Kewell had yesterday. As bad as the decision in my opinion was, at least Manny did touch him. The same can not be said for a Penalty Kenny won us earlier this season (i forget who it was against)

Is it the fault of the players? To a degree yes, as this is not playing the game in the spirit it certainly was intended and yes that sounds like "back in the old days stuff" but even back then people tried to con referees.

The fault for this lies with the referees imo and to a degree with FIFA. How many refs in the A league for instance have any experience playing the game beyond being last kid picked for a kick around when they were eight, which again in my opinion results in having someone in charge with little appreciation of the "feel" of a match. It does result in younger referees and the benefit of that is probably a group of refs who are fitter and manage to stay closer to the action but they often have little insight of what is happening in front of them.

The ability to look at incidents retrospectively needs to be enhanced, to sort out this diving. It drives me nuts and is a blight on the game that filters down to Junior levels.  Perhaps coaches need to accept some responsibility for this. It is easy for them in theory  to sanction their own players

I usually give refs the benefit of the doubt, but Williams was appalling last night ( and this is the Leagues most experienced referee with 135 matches under his belt). He just missed so much. It has obviously been said many times, we should have been 2-0 up playing against ten men for around 70 minutes yesterday. By sending off Siggy yesterday, he not only had a major impact on last nights game but it has also had a significant effect on this coming weeks game

The standard of refereeing is not just an A league issue. I am sure if you went on any Fan Forum of any league in the world, fans will be venting on some level

had to laugh at the commentators comments when Watson came on about him being a beast and what kind of unit he must have been with the extra 10kg.

I thought he did quite well as well. Really strong and he monstered their left back. Super strong and definately has the potential to be a great target man for us.

I thought Ridenton had his best game for us. Nice to see him get involve more.

Contact doesn't mean it was a foul. The one on Brockie was way worse.

comparatively, I really enjoyed the commentary from last night. Simon Hill knows his shit and harper just chimes in with random/ridiculous comments, even mark bosinch(?) had the odd interesting comment at half time, but they all know a lot more about football and the footballers than the sky team. yes they do love a little bit of Kewell in them, but hes there greatest ever player, if we have Sir Nelsen playing with nix im sure we would be the same. both of them were open and honest about the refereeing, and had a few crack/jokes at players ( eg: watson and his weight).

I have an amazing ability to find my way out of mazes. I'm pathological.
