But it's okay because FOX can fill their schedules and in the list of FFA priorities that is number 1-30.  Not the players, not the clubs, not the supporters, not the viewers.  Fox, Fox and more Fox.

At Avalon Park with the kids. Just saw a guy in an early Nix TEE. Asked him if he was going on Sunday and he said no. To me, these are the guys we should be trying to get back at the stadium.

Did he say why?

I have to say the start to the season, coinciding with us having players out for internationals, is just completely farcical

As much as I hate the 'Victory did everything first' type response, from a league perspective, it's even crazier to open the season with the 'big blue' (puke) marquee match, and have Melbourne missing 3 or 4 players.

Still, $500 from the top of the box isn't bad.  I'd expect that to go at least once in the five weeks.

If someone gets the 100k in the very first week, pitch invasion.

the TAB has faith in the Nix

Yeah, I can’t be bothered watching games other than the nix now because of this. #sayNoToVAR

I heard Domey talking on Radio Sport tonight, did a good job talking up the game, the team, entertainments being put on by the refugee groups etc,. When asked about what players to watch out for, he talked about Dario Vid and Paracki and the new defenders in glowing terms. I am wondering if the new striker isn't quite setting things alight - no mention of him.

VAR in the Bundesliga doesn't seem  too bad

The quality of refs in the Budesliga is in stark contrast to the A-League.

I fudgeing hate VAR. Goal line technology is fine, nothing else.

see i think VAR sucks because it is a half arsed solution to the problem. Like other sports have successfully implemented, i think the ref in the middle should be supported by a 4th ref in the stands with a TV/replay of the game who can communicate to the him/her to help with decisions.
The reason the VAR takes an age is because the role between these two isnt clear and the man in the middle has too much to do in the role.

I have an amazing ability to find my way out of mazes. I'm pathological.

VAR is the best thing to happen to professional football in a long time, we've lagged far behind other sports codes for ages. Can't wait to see it implemented properly!

What is the official aftermatch pub this season?

They have moved to The Churchill on Lampton Quay, has been done up and there is lots of room so be good to see how it goes on Sunday.

The place before it was the Churchill used to be part of the 12 pubs circuit.

Formerly one of the drinking holes of the original Fever Exec. Think I might have even met Pancakes and Darius for the first time here.

Not a bad option I reckon. Very easy wander from the Zone.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

We shall defend our last third

We shall never surrender a 2 goal lead

VAR would have fixed that though
