Amusingly, we're pretty consistently busy all day, but the lull you can see in traffic is at lunch time.

That is the polar opposite of what we see at Trade Me.

People go on Trade Me at lunch, but people go on Fever all day and take a short break for lunch.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Would like to see Durante, Sigmund and Boxall at the back, and that would allow us to push Caira and Fenton up a bit more.

Something like this:

Tell me about it. Whenever I sell something, it's just painful answering the stupid questions. Then people who back out of a sale (usually with textbooks as they've found something cheaper at uni) then post retaliatory negative feedback - then having trademe ask me to remove the negative feedback on the person who didn't pay me for the sale. C*nts.
Rant over.

Allegedly

Yip , Like that !!

I never want to see Luke Adams in a Phoenix shirt again ! He was a Dopey donkey in the under 20s and worse with the Nix ,sorry to be so mean but he made my Blood Boil  with such poor choices made worse by lack of speed and skill .

A Total liability

Perhaps that's when businesses unblock sites for an hour that they don't want their employees on all day. My receptionist at my last firm was on Trade Me all day. Not great for greeting patients when you tell them to hold a moment...

Adams certainly wasn't the worse player out there. Hicks would lead my charge. Poor crossing, poor passing and lost possession too many times but as I said in another thread, early days and this is the "for real" competition now, give them a few games to adjust to the higher intensity.

Hicks will grow into it. Playing out of position much like Adams and Riera. I thought Riera's passing was crisp and id love to see him in there alongside Manny next week (but wont). Hicks will be a handy squad member.
Although he had hardly any minutes I think Tyler Boyd still has to show hes up to his level. I really have my doubts

We we all disappointed with the result for sure and some of the play looked rusty. It took time to get used to not seeing the long ball being played. I'd like to think every fan on this site and off it, that support the Phoenix, will be rapt that the football season has finally got under way! And that is a BIG positive.

Yeah, the image was a joke, but the back three could work, with only Brockie up front perhaps.

Harsh criticism unwarranted for some... some of my thoughts on the game yesterday

Cunningham - took some minutes to get into the flow of the game but what I saw in the 15 - 45 minute period was very promising. He was elusive, has an eye for a pass, works hard, I think he's got the goods.

Ciara - very promising in my opinion. Quick, attacking, looks to interplay with his winger/midfielders, and defensive positioning was ok for me - most of the attacking came through the middle or on adams side. Reckon Ciara should hold that LB spot with ease and will only improve with each game.

Lia - didn't watch him specifically, but as usual he popped up with some glaring giveaways and some poor fouls. I'm not as critical of his performance as others but I agree he's  a weak link and we'd do well to give riera a start asap to see if he can give us something more.

Riera - good first impression for me but hard to judge without seeing him play in midfield

Muscat - excellent, excellent game in my opinion. His judgement when deciding to snap into a tackle, or drop off and hold, was near perfect. Can't recall him losing out in many (if any) attempted tackles. A lot of ball-wins in the attacking half. Better than anything I remember seeing from him last season. He also showed some nice short passes and touches I thought.

Hicks - one week contract, out of position. If it was cunningham, ifill or  someone else already in our squad, I'd be critical, but for a one-week signing coming out of ASBP, he did ok. Tried hard, any errors were basically around their box so didn't cost us, I'm ok with that, thanks for giving us a hand mate.

Adams - I didnt notice all the errors others are claiming but there was a lot of space down his side when brisbane attacked, so he can't have been doing too well. However, calling him a donkey and writing him off after yesterday is frankly ridiculous. Many have given him decent praise based on his pre-season performances at CB, so, as with Riera, I'll reserve judgement until I see him at CB.

Siggy - a couple of errors i didnt like, but overall I think he played well. Captaincy good for him too i think. And I'm not sure if anyone else noticed, but in the 2nd half a roar player was about to take possession, siggy was steaming toward him, and I thought 'f*ck siggys too late here and he's gonna cut him in half' - but he didnt. He knew it would've been a foul and stopped and tried to hold. Was a minor moment but an important piece of discipline, hopefully he is learning.

Boxall - when roar had the ball on the wings i thought he got it wrong a couple of times and didnt get close enough to berisha to anticipate the cutback . Seemed to be waiting for mids to hit the box or their other winger to come in, when we all knew they would just look for berisha every time. Apart from that, very happy, impressed with a lot of his play and obviously the assist. Reckon he could  shade siggy when durante is back even.

Spoonley - great game. Rushing out was a good ploy, probably prevented a berisha hat trick. He screwed it up once and got lucky with the leg block, but it was a risky tactic, so one error not costing a goal is ok. He actually reminded me a wee bit of the spurs keeper Lloris.

Huysegems/hernandez i wont get into - everyone seems to agree they both had great games, I'm in agreement.

Overall:

I think the key reason we lost (aside from missing starters) was tiredness. I know they're claiming we're the fittest we've been but we obviously tired badly at the end of the first half, and some players were out on their feet somewhat for the last 20 mins - half hour. Our game plan is clearly very high-tempo. When we were at our best for most  of the first half, every player was covering a lot of ground, pressing high, taking quick free kicks, that's clearly how were going to play and I love it. Now  get back to your beep tests boys! (or whatever that new fandangled version is called - havent been near one since high school!). We may be fit but we gotta get fitter to play the game this way.

A good and balanced read. I said earlier everyone has their own thoughts and the variety I've read is what makes this site so interesting. I note the differences show from the angle the fans view the performances from. What I missed others saw and visa versa.

Hicks is on a month contract, so I can see us seeing more of him over the next few weeks. McPeake & Watson got the one week deals.

Yeah good display excepting running out of juice towards the end of each half. I was picking a 3-1 result to the Roar before the game based on the team selection. Like what I saw in terms of game plan. Get the whole squad together with a few more games under their belts, I am hopeful we can make top 6.

I think the team will settle, now that they know the pace and speed of things - applying that comment to the new members of the squad. Things are looking up, some of the interpassing was excellent and some was crap. It will get better.

i though he did some things well in the first half  in particular, but the occasional brain fart foul and woeful pass always overshadows the rest of his game for me

He essentially plays the same role as manny but not as well
