I had a good time, goals are coming. And then we will be unstoppable!
That second 1/2 time YF chant was kind of hypnotizing. I was clapping the whole time as loud as I could, my palms are still sore.

The two jugs of water that I drank at Four Kings seemed to have saved my voice.

This just shows how bad we are.

???

Substantiate that claim.

????

I'm saying if last night is the best we can play, we are not a good team. At the moment anyway. The performance that stands out for me was away to WSW. Last night was not good at all. Brockie sums up our team tbh.

so do you think we are a shit football team? Do you think that's the worst we have played this season?

Quote easy Vader. Look at the scoreboard as they say. Expected better of you

Look at the scoreboard? That's the defence on how good we are as a side? You expect better of me, well I expected better than that response...
The AWs were undefeated at WC 2010. Were they the best side there? Can you see how that defence works?

I never said they won all their games or lost all their games. I said undefeated. Note the distinction. If you draw, you are not defeated.

It's a massive red herring though. Games won: 0.

Absolutely it is and thank you so much for validating my point. Just like saying 'look at the scoreboard. That says we are a shit team'. It does not tell you the complete story.

As I said Vader you look at the scoreboard. We lost yesterday, we did not draw, we did not win, we lost

At the moment, yes. We are shit. IMO. We have not won a game so far this season. That doesn't happen if you are a good team. Not the worst we have played this season but not the best.

It doesn't tell the whole truth, because the draw is so unbalanced this season. We haven't faced 3 of the other 4 teams in the bottom half of the table yet, and we've played the top two teams twice each.

Why is it so hard for the FFA to do the fixtures properly - i.e. We should have played every team once by now?

I'm watching this Heart Sydney game and it's rubbish. Yeah there are two goals but it's a crap watch.

Steve-O best post you have made all day.

The simple answer I suspect is they do not give a fuck about us and how it pans out. We get the junior refs, we get the midnight KOs in Perth, we get no FIFA windows. Do you think they are going to care Bout who we play and a draw stacked against us?

WARNING INCOMING ANGST
If it was the first A League game you had ever seen it would be pretty hard to believe that it is a professional league and I don't think you would be driven to attend a game any time soon. Both teams were dreadful and it was a poor advertisment for the league - at times it was a complete hack fest. As previously stated I had enjoyed watching the Nix this year but found the game yesterday to be torture to watch. I don't think it will trend that way this season because we have shown we can play but it didn't come together yesterday at all IMO.

Sorry mate, you usually make a lot of sense but I think you're way off beam with this call. I thought we played well except for our poor/inadequate finishing.

It's "really complicated" to sort out the draw according to Damien de Bohun. So complicated that they can't even have weeks off for international windows.

I call bullshit. Even if it's not perfect (i.e. we play everyone once, then everyone once, then everyone once), there should never be cases where we play all three games against a side before we play another for the first time (happening with WSW/Adelaide this season).

Strange that every other league in the world manages to do the fixtures how you'd expect, but it's just too complicated in Australia...

We've got WSW on NYD and that'll be our 3 games against them done before the half way mark.

I haven't followed the fixtures discussion greatly.  Putting the "it's really complicated" fob off to one side, what do people think are the real reasons as to why this year it is so shambolic?
It hasn't been a problem in previous seasons has it?  If not then what has changed this season?

And that reinforces my original point, that the league table doesn't tell the whole truth about how the season is going.

I'm just stirring Patrick, I know how unbalanced the table is because of the way the draw is set up.
But guess what is open for discussion is that it's fine to be buoyed by a spirited performance against a top of the table team, but where we've really failed in the first third of the season is in the games against the 'weaker' sides - particularly against Newcastle and Perth at 'home', and Perth away.

It's to do with Fox and Channel Nine have 'marquee' games every week to show on TV - so the rounds aren't actual 'rounds' (i.e. same match-ups each week in each round), but they're manipulated so there's these types of games every week.

On top of that, they also tried to 'share around' the Friday night teams, as these are on free to air TV to give the teams equal exposure.

Where can I find some stats on this game? I need to see if it will prove me wrong. Happy to admit that if the stats show something different to what I thought I saw. To me it seemed like a hack fest with lots of missed chances and a lot of wayward passing.

Fuck this stupid game

Thanks - money talks.
No surprises there - but seems odd that it doesn't happen in other "top" leagues in other countries (does it?).
