practicew makes pefect right? we have plenty of it lately so this game should be a shoe in.

Especially all our football experts who said how terrible Lochy was, and actually think we'd be going better with him on the park at the moment...Having said that Caira has worked hard, and I appreciate his effort, but it's been a tough ask. He hasn't been able to get forward much.

think Hernandez should start from the bench...Huysegems at number 10, Hernandez on for him at the 55th minute...

Brockie had a great run and a better pass to set up Huysegems for the first goal last week. He made the goal.

Crazy I know, but Full backs have been a serious concern for us lately and it's time to try experience over youth.
Also Huysegems is just as good as Hernandez retaining possession and think of the wing creativity! Also Hernandez gets frustrated and starts to give the ball away a bit. Lacking pace on the wings but we have a front four who should be able to create and score (in theory) and to be honest I'm not sure Kenny's speed is ever going to actually eventuate.
Would probably rather have Manny in the middle... but Reira's coming along ok.

Or maybe start Fenton and bring Ifill on to face tired legs.

We need more than Lia & Reira in the midfield, so would expect Hicks to come in. Glory exposed them and the Roar are that much better, we struggle badly without the extra body in midfield.

Roar have the best midfield in the league, by far. They will tear us to shreds if we don't pack ours out with as many players as we can.

Perhaps Ernie could adopt the infamous "Ricki 1-9-1 formation?" or 1-4-5-1?

Really liked Steiny in that No. 10 role last week. Buzzed around the midfield and held onto the ball well. Hope to see him drop back a little and get on the ball vs. Brisbane.

I don't really know where to post this, but I picked up a ticket from work (so thank reading cinemas!) for the game tomorrow.

gonna be a beautiful day to play the beautiful game. I'm worried about us getting anythign from it but I'll be there screaming for the lads to do us proud.

Lucky the cricket is over, hopefully a few people who were in town for the blackcaps might pop along to see the Phoenix.

I must confess I'm willing a Phoenix win. I think Merrick warrants it with his refreshing style of play. If I was in Wellington I'd be at the ground. Hope the fans really get behind the team.

Game day and off to Nelson..bugger. Hate booking flights early in the year to go see family before the draw is released.
