Mandi has gone to kick the ball and the Adelaide player has pulled it under himself with his arm. Could argue it was reckless/dangerous though - but having yellow carded Mandi already, can VAR review?

Something just not clicking for us. Handing the ball over far too easily in midfield and when we do have the ball we're making some poor decisions with it. We've been second best for a lot of this, but we're somehow still in with a shot. Just as I say that it all kicks off. Sosa going for the ball there, he can't get sent off for this surely?

No arguments there

Have to agree with that red card unfortunately

The Adelaide player rolled the ball under himself with his elbow? I think that's very debatable. Thought VAR was there for clear and obvious overturns?

Mandis been fired up the whole game, should’ve been subbed 10mins earlier to prevent just this. Didn’t help the Adelaide player grabbed the ball under him using his arm

That was filthy, absolutely a red. Mandi was already having a shocker too, really disappointing from him

The more I look at it the kore I'm surprised it got pinged.

Mandi goes to kick ball, players moves ball out of way ina split second with his hand, Mandi catches him.

If the Adelaide player doesn't commit a handball so Mandi kicks the ball is it still a red?

Thought he was going for the ball that was clearly right there. Or are you not allowed to try kick the ball when someone is lying on top of it? Yellow card was correct call by ref.

Definitely not a clear and obvious error.

Terrible decision. I didn't think VAR could be called on after a yellow card had been issued? Someone clear this up dor me. Fudge I hate Adelaide ?

He definitely did, but when you come flying in with the boot towards a man on the ground, handball or not, you are asking for trouble.  My only question was whether VAR could overturn a yellow already given, but apparently he can.

How is Rufer's yellow any different to the tackle on Singh 1 minute ago in a different position that didn't pick up a booking?

Ref let too much niggly fouling go from the start.

It's not clear if the yellow was for the challenge, or the set-too.

No way that should have gone to VAR. Death by slow motion replay as far as I'm concerned. When you watch it at full speed I think it's quite obvious that Mandi is trying to clear the ball.

Didnt agree with the send off but I can just imagine how some of you would have screamed had that been a Phoenix player on the receiving end of the kick.

Yet kicks the player on the ground in the ribs. Definition of dangerous/SFP. Moving the ball out of the way is the curious part of this. Player should have been cautioned as moved the ball with hand directly to prevent nix gaining posession, doesn't change the red card for me though.

Yeah exactly.

People can debate forever whether it should have been a red or not, but given red was a likely outcome, it was stupid and reckless.

I reckon that reckless. He had no regard for the Adelaide players safety and would've just smashed the ball into him

If the Adelaide player didn't roll away the ball with his arms, he would've smashed the ball into him in open play. Kicking a ball hard isn't a foul

We would have received a red for the handball :P
