How many goals have we seen when there are no players on the posts?
It's been the defensive trend of the last 10 years or so to not have someone there, so it's not really junior stuff, as the players are likely doing as instructed. I don't understand it myself - I think the theory is you prevent more goals by having the extra man in the area to prevent the shot to start with, but I just don't buy it.
In that instance the ball should never have got to Santalab anyway, but our guys just stood there as it came in rather than attacking the ball. We almost let a corner bounce in our box. Ridiculous
