anyone know what the deal is with Tyler Boyd? Is this the last year of his contract? And why does he seem to be left out of the squad?

Rumour has it that he's a cock on legs.

So I guess he is being released then?

I think the big thing with the Phoenix is the team culture. If you don't fit in, not much chance of you staying... (Carlos, Pav, Gao etc)

Pav was around for quite some time.

and its quite obvious that the positive culture and environment had no influence on that dickhead... ergo dickheads will always be dickheads regardless of environment. This leads directly to why we should not sign Joel Griffiths.

Except we have, so get over it.

I remember watching the game where the sack wacker wacked the linesman's sack. What made me laugh was the lino didn't do anything about it!

You have to have balls of steel to be a linesman in A-League.

Unless it was the female linesman (Sarah Ho?).

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

On a side note, I had a go at a bloke behind me in the zone who was biffing out homophobic rubbish ("get up you homo" etc etc). He didn't appreciate my point of view, but left anyway. I'd really like to find out who he is and pass his details on to the club. Can any one assist?

For the lols, he had a fantastic comeback when I told him that his brainless rubbish wasn't welcome in the zone. He made a wanker sign at me and said "I am ejaculating on your face." There are some underlying issues there I reckon.

To be fair he's actually offering more of a comefront than a comeback...

Before the Asian Cup, Wellington were placing 40% of their shots on target, largely aided by the fact that 73% of their shots were coming from inside the box – at the time the highest ratio in the league. Since the season has resumed, they have managed to place just 29% of their shots on target, with only 63% of their shots coming from inside the penalty area (and only 55% discounting the Newcastle match).

Interesting stat given the calls from some people to shoot from distance more.

It also depends on the context of the game.

Obviously shooting from inside the box is preferable and has a higher chance of being on target. Frustration that we have a lot of posession and do nothing with it encourage people to say they want the trigger pulled a bit sooner. I think the odd long range shot is good for keeping defenders on their toes ; but it should never be your main tactic, obviously.

and the ability of the people who would be taking those long shots.

It looks like what we were seeing in the game, BUrns/Krishna has missed the instinctive nature and combination they had before the break. I'd also say that Roly hasn't rampaged as much? often he sucked in players, creating space.

I feel like this is interesting;

Burns scoring percentage in the A-League.

We can't honestly expect him to keep up that high of a scoring percentage when he hasn't done so at any point during his career. Other players need to step up now.

It's only interesting if you assume that the chances presented to him are of equal difficulty.

True, but either way, I don't think expecting him to keep up that kind of conversion rate is logical.

He's playing far further forward than he has previously and the whole attack is built around getting good quality shots away, I wouldn't be surprised if all our attackers are experiencing a higher percentage than previously in their careers.

You know we belong together...
