For my 2 cents worth. The zone was very flat and fairly quiet tonight. And for the first time, I saw fans sitting down in the zone, perhaps in quiet resignment to the fact the game was crap yet again and no wins in 9 was on its way. But why else was the zone quietish?
Why? Perhaps they are tired of giving everything they have at every home game within New Zealand and getting fudgeall back for it.
They players play like they want the club to die or at least have the season end. We could have won that game 5-4 on the chances and we managed to screw up them all including one that was so easy, the guy in the wheel chair 25 feet from me could have scored it.
This is just so frustrating and sad. I really feel for my fellow fans having to out up with the crap on the field, the crap off the field, the FFA fuuck around etc etc. Ive met some great people whose passion and effort and friendliness has been unquestionable, yet now days they seem to have lost that edge at the games. The crowd use to be like having an extra player on the field but not now.
The sooner we find out 10 more years or not, the better. Put us out of our misery or enable us to plan our support for next season.
I note too that the clubs public releations lost another opportunity too. At half time they could have brought out our new striker for an introduction to give us a lift but alas not.
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!
