What if griffiths scores the winner? how do we react? our first win in Melbourne against the Victory, 1 over Kevin Muscat, yet Griffiths being the scorer? I might need some therapy to get over the confusions.

He is one of ours now - All is forgiven

I guess the thing for this guy is to try an act 'normal' and perform.

When we signed Reddy and Vuko we all went "oh FFS not that guy" but they did their jobs and kept their heads down and have good reputations with the Phoenix fans. The opportunity is there for Griffiths if he takes it.

Grumpy old bastard alert

Very much so. I wanted Ricki to sign both those guys. Reddy was on fire for us and even now when we give him shark in a good natured way, he takes it on the chin and acknowledges us. I like the guy and the same with Danny. The only goalkeeper to score for us. but it was the "nearly" goal that was awesome to watch. hitting the crossbar saving the blushes for the other keeper. If Griffiths can perform and score and put in a good shift then so be it.

Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

Do I really remember watching a bore more than boring 0-0 draw at Victory.  Never get those 90 mins back.

At least we got something from it. Most boring game ever was a 0-1 loss at ROF to Perth a couple seasons back. Was dire from both sides, absolutely sharkty weather, and they tucked one away in the last minute to make it one of the worst games ive ever watched.

Was that Tony Warner in goal?

Louis Fenton remains unavailable as he recovers from concussion and while Muscat was missing from training yesterday to be with his pregnant wife, Merrick said: "I've been assured by Manny that the baby will come at the appropriate time and Manny will be available to play."

OPTA DATA

- Melbourne Victory have won nine of their last 10 matches against Wellington Phoenix.

- The Nix's only win over Victory in that spell was a 5-0 triumph last January, their second biggest winning margin in A-League history.

- The last five games contested between these two have seen 22 goals scored (4.4 per game on average).

FORM LINES

Melbourne Victory: DWDWL

Victory's Round 18 match away to Brisbane Roar last Friday night was postponed due Cyclone Marcia, meaning Kevin Muscat's men haven't been in action since drawing 3-3 with Sydney FC on February 14. Before that they defeated Melbourne City FC 3-0, drew 3-3 away to Perth Glory and beat Western Sydney 2-1 on the road.

Wellington Phoenix: DDLLW

The Nix haven't won in their last four outings, drawing 2-2 with the Newcastle Jets and 0-0 with City in their last two games, both of those coming at home. Prior to that they lost 2-0 away to Western Sydney and 3-2 at Brisbane Roar. You have to go back to a 3-0 home win over the Roar on January 4 for their most recent victory.

DID YOU KNOW?

Besart Berisha has netted in four of his previous five Hyundai A-League matches against Wellington.
