Anyone else shocked that Dylan Fox has been left behind? Was he that bad? What happens if we need to sub a CB?
Oi Oi Edgecumbe... lets have a clean sheet
Did he fail to make it over the lazy log?

really? can i ask who? I thought our current squad was a pretty balance and driven group of men.

I thought he was very poor.

Score prediction Perth 3 Nix 1 in front of 12,000. Nix goal's a 'consolation' once Perth takes the foot of the pedal.
Come on Nix prove me wrong please.

I'm guessing more the young kiwi lads than young aussies? Hudson did say he thought a high number of the young kiwi players need a reality check. Think they've made it and all that, must be a generation thing.
You'd definitely want to get Durante straight back in there. Assume that Kosta is a straight swap for Watson, but after that it is a bit unclear. Does McGlinchey play in the front three? Gets a bit crowded as I am a firm believer the Bonevacia needs to be central as well - he never looks comfortable out wide. I think Lowry should get a chance at left back given Parkhouse was nay good
Parkhouse was Ernie's MOM and when I spoke to Domey he was effusive about how good he is!
Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Yeah, I saw that - does anyone agree? I thought Tratt had the better debut?
Of course, both Tratt and Parkhouse were
1) Playing their first games at this level
2) Both out of position (Parkhouse apparently a winger and to me Tratt looks like a CB. Reminded me of Musa playing out there.)
So any judgments on them should be taken with a pinch of salt either way.

Tratt was much, much better than Parkhouse, that is baffling that Ernie would think that Parkhouse was better. Tratt was solid throughout the match both attacking and defending whereas Parkhouse was no doubt out of position and therefore out of depth, committing many mistakes and losing the ball often. Parkhouse had a good 20 minutes in the second half where he created a couple of chances but apart from that he was woeful. Hopefully he is never played at fullback again.
Ernie might have visions of turning Parkhouse into one of those small, speedy attacking wingbacks in the Scott Jamieson mould. He definitely seems faster than Doyle and willing to take his man on, but sometimes looked a bit lost when it came to the positional aspects of being a fullback. Mind you Kamau, who he was marking, is no slouch and will give plenty of fullbacks a hard time this season.
I think he has some promise. His debut was a helluva lot better than Manny's all those years ago and we ended up pretty satisfied with him!
Was really impressed with Rogerson, if Barbarouses isn't straight back into the XI I'd like to see Logan start over Watson, especially if Ernie is going to insist on playing wide forwards.
If only Rogerson ever looked up.
End of an era. Vinnie - It's over.
If anyone cares for my inane babbling follow @iluvnix17 on the Twitter.
I know I bang on about A-Rod's stats but I just find it strange that people can't see the work he does linking defense and attack and providing an outlet to pass to for teammates under pressure. He's not a crunching tackler or a playmaker and the combination of being slowish and having great positioning means he never really looks like he's busting a gut, which maybe makes people think he's not doing anything, whereas the stats show just how involved he is.
I think he's a similar type of player to Busquets and I guess there's a lot of people who can't see how vital Busquets is to that Barcelona side either
That is a fanciful comparison and it goes to the main criticism of A-Rod. He just does not influence the game at all in an attacking sense. Busquets plays as the deepest midfielder and at times drops in as a third centre back. Then on attack the play builds through him. Rodriguez plays further forward than that generally, or as one of two defensive players, yet while is passing is fairly accurate at times he has absolutely no attacking instincts and his passing is completely functional. Plus as you say he is pretty slow. Have you ever seen him play a one two, or lay on a chance for anyone? I have barely seen him have a shot. He has no goals or assists in 50 appearances but yet he isn't really a defensive player either, and he isn't an attacking player - so what is he? Yes Finkler and Roly were quiet on the weekend but we have seen what they can do in an attacking sense in previous games. We have never seen that with Rodriguez at all.
For me he has to be able to get in the team ahead of Lia as the most defensive midfielder otherwise he doesn't warrant a place in the starting line up. And if you can't get in the team ahead of Lia then are you really an A-League quality import?
There are some issues with the Nix team potentially stopping them being a top 4 team, but the majority of them boil down to form.
The one constant thorn in our side is this guy.
The so called a rod.
He sure isn't worth an import spot and personally I wouldn't even put him in an all white squad if he ever became eligible.
I would prefer Moses Dyer
Time to flush the toilet and move on from this guy

There's been only one game this season! But I guess every team needs a scapegoat. And if you haven't seen A-Rod play a one-two or lay on a potential goal scoring opportunity, I honestly do not think you've been paying enough attention to comment.
Granted he wasn't great last season, injuries and a generally poor team performance certainly didn't help. He certainly looked like he had potential in his debut season though, I'm personally picking him to kick on and prove you doubters wrong.

More likely a small pond thing
With everyone complaining commentating on players of influence.
I think that's the nix problem all over the field.
Plenty of watch and wait but not a lot in the way of doing, especially as a team.
More often than not the team looks like it has the small kiwi complex of just being happy to get to play with the big boys.
Who takes the game by the scruff and goes F this, we're in control here. Anyone???
fudge, just realised this game is tomorrow. fudge!

League test in Perth tonight.
Team might need some lube when Sydney visits. 4-0 now with 20 to go

Probably WeeMac or Kosta..or the new attacking mid guy, when he gets chance off bench in a few weeks time..
A small town in Europe........looking to bounce straight back up....well that aint going to happen
We got our AW quality players back. This is the season start for our A-Team.
Less than 3 points would be disappointing if we want to win the league. Fire up!
3 pts here. Anything else would be a failure.
Lets take a win into our next game against Sydney.
These sort of games away are what we need to take if we are going to make any impact on the league this year.
6th out of ten is not a successful season in my book, and shouldn't be in anyones
Good thing is we have the team to take three points away from Perth today
Grumpy old bastard alert
I think it's key we pick up a point or three against the Glory today, Sydney next week will be extremely tough and I wouldn't expect us to be stealing a win from them. If we were to be on 0 points after 3 games, this will affect the players confidence and cohesion, and of course, crowd numbers at the caketin. To even make it in the knock-out rounds we need to do better than four teams, Perth may be one of those teams that will be in and around the 6th place mark this season.
Optimists..I will gladly take a draw. Perth are expected to be top 4.

5-1 is my pick.

Perth got shipped three goals last week, we got only one. We will win 3:1 Goals by Krishna, Kosta and Guy.
We are going to need some lube because Perth are going to fudge us right in the Glory Hole!

Depends what shape the returning AWs are in. If our guys are physically up to the demanding travel, I would expect an even game after the initial Perth onslaught. While they were all over CCM last week early on, they took their foot off the pedal and were suspiciously low on energy late in the game against the Mariners.
.
Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days
What we've learned over the last 10 years of the A-League is that you don't need a strong start to the season but a good run late. I won't worry if we get humped, Perth were one of the favourites for the title and were said to have the best defense in the league, yet shipped three goals to near certain wooden spooners. They are going to be disapointed with themselves, and they will take that out on us.
There's the timezone difference, the travel, the fact that our best players have played two games in three days and then traveled from the other side of the planet, and Perth will be out to redeem themselves.
We'll probably lose this, I just hope we put up a good fight.
We are going to need some lube because Perth are going to fudge us right in the Glory Hole!
I have a feeling we will have our chastity belt on tonight, 2-1 win for the Nix.
*waits for the Parkhouse haters to question why he's starting again*
:p
Doyle still not ready to start... big game for Lia to show why he deserves to start ahead of A Rod

I would like to see Parkhouse play again before passing judgement. I am however bemused as to why Ernie made him MOM against Melbourne City.
