G Arnold would have been screaming for it if the call went the other way.

One of the issues with VAR is that no one knows when the fudge it can or can't be used, causes a whole lot more angst.

Just highlighting another massive flaw in a flawed system.

Bit loose at the back, but a lot to like tonight.

Especially the way we have come back at Sydney twice.

We probably deserve a draw here.

That's what I was thinking. What re they supposed to do? Give us the ball back in a 2 on 1 against the keeper?

We've really tried to rush things these last 10 mins. Bit disappointing as we've been on top and think we could've got something

How can Watson get himself offside there.  Terrible.

Team showed great attitude there a lot to be positive about, could easily have been to up inside the first ten mins, and that ridiculous off side decision!!

Great mystery to me what Watson actually contributes with.

Well I'm just excited by the fact that we didn't look completely toothless and tired.

Can hold our head up high. Poor decision for the offside which would've resulted in a tap in; gave them a scare though.

Still a lot of issues to sort at the back. That 3rd goal in particular was very disappointing.

precisely. The review is always going to come after the fact so you can’t restore it if the decision is proven to be wrong because it’s not a natural stoppage

Robbed by an offside decision in the first game against Sydney last season if I remember correctly. The one tonight wasn't even close though.

Fudge the VAR, just get some better officials who understand the fudgeing rules of the game. Problem solved.

But 2-3 v Sydney, away at 72mins?  I'd have taken that big time before the game.

Even better at 90+

A settled, League smashing Sydney side, versus a team still gelling.

Looking forward to the rest of the season.

It says a bit for our strike force when Watson is the back up. He is fudgeing awful. And on a 3 year donut

Coming back against Sydney twice.  A squad still gelling vs a very settled top performing Sydney side.

I've had a lot of Nix games that I've not enjoyed watching.  Wrong result, but this was a good watch.

A few things to fix, but

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

Correct me if I'm wrong but weren't we done out of a Krishna goal last season against Sydney by another dud lino decision?

We were generally outplayed but, hell, it was an away game against the best team in the comp and we yet we nearly nabbed a point.

Hysterically.

Watson blotted his copy book there with the two offsides, but good run and good ball to set Parkhouse away on the left. Could be a useful player. Needs to start delivering. Parkhouse lively but could have delivered better.

Very, very reassured about Darije. His tactical switch worked. He doesn't seem panicked and he seems to have cover and depth in the squad for the style he wants to play. Hope we start getting results soon.

Agree with the overall sentiment, although the second half of the first half was dire.

Chances are there were a few choice words spoken in the change room at halftime.

Ref got 2 offsite calls shockingly wrong

Carney (and a red card) and Abbas, should have been 4-3.

We should be good once we sort out our defense.

At least the VAR didn't give Sydney their customary goal.

Don't forget Carney wasn't offside either, so equally bad both ways

I agree on Darije's tactical switch being a sign of a good coach with a Plan B. Our left flank looked better in the second half. Parkhouse seemed to thrive in that new formation. On the other hand, I thought that Krishna was unable to get much penetration on the right wing and his frustration was clearly visible.

Sydney played well - as expected - and we could have been four down at halftime except for a couple of misses. Hence I see second half as a draw (regardless of the Abbas offside that was/wasn't real). Melbourne City will be just as tough next weekend.

You mean the ref's assistant? Sydney were robbed too, so maybe 4-3

Compared to 90 minutes of dire, week after week, that was a breath of fresh air.

McG made a big difference.  Kaludjerovic showed he will do business.  Vidosic showing he will score also.

Vastly improved attitude.  Fudge I am pleased to not be watching the sort of fold we got dished last year.

Fix the probs at FB and get Rossi back in good shape and this will get very interesting.

Melb C will be a bit of a different test though, so we'll see how we go.

Ok Vader I'm going to put you in a scenario. You are a goal keeper and there is a single player running at you. What do you do? The obvious answer is attempt a one on one save. Now picture this. There are two players running at you. Now what do you do? Rush the player with the ball and risk him passing it off? Hold your ground and risk a possibly savable shot or a pass off? Track back, giving the attacker a wider angle? That's pretty intefering if you ask me. And we played some good Football at times and had a few shots saved that could've been goals.  Obviously you don't think it's unlucky but I do. So I don't see what lampooning me helps with...
