Poor finish for us with Krishna getting a second yellow and getting sent off for his trouble.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

could have been subbed earlier?

How can that possibly be considered anything other than protecting the ball. You see that dozens of times in every match! That is disgraceful.

Why was Mandi not awarded a penalty for the same thing?

His arm is loose, he hasn't even got his elbow cocked. Meanwhile Lorente has got his hands all over him trying to knock him off balance.

That should pretty much lock up a playoff spot too.

It is actually called ' swinging arm '

Did the VAR intervene? How the fudge can they intervene on a yellow card decision?

Permalink Permalink
about 7 years ago · edited about 7 years ago · History

Krishna's swinging elbow was 100% a yellow card, and often is called a red.

Perhaps the costernation is because Mandi got hit  with a stray hand in the box and nothing happened? And VAR intervened for a yellow (which they aren't apparently allowed to do..?)

Anyone debating that was a yellow card needs to get glasses or perhaps stop being so bloody one eyed.

Focus should be on a great win under trying circumstances, and plaudits to the YF tribute in the 50th minute. People getting angry at the ref and shouting obscenities at the guy who got hit really surprise me considering everything that's occured this weekend. Take a deep breath. Realise we won. Realise that football isn't the most important thing this week.

And hey, with Roy banned - we get to see Sheridan for 90 mins..

Who was the official MOTM?

I would pick Burgess.

Almost certainly awarded MoTM by Fox Sports even if he has a poor game.

JETS:

A Nix
H Wanderers
A Perth
A Roar
H Sydney

NIX:

H Jets
A Adelaide
A Roar
H City
A Perth

15 points to play for.

8 points and +7 goal difference for us.

If we lose, it's down to 5. I refuse to believe Jets will get anything in Perth.

We probably won't either.

That's then 5 points with 9 to play for.

If we lose to Newcastle (and Perth), one more win should seal it, assuming Newcastle win their remaining games (unlikely).

We're not there just yet.

If we beat Newcastle it's a done deal. Even a draw should see us through.

Jest are only side left outside the current Top 6 with a realistic mathematical chance of claiming a spot in the 6. Agreed that we can still mathematically finish 3rd but first objective is to secure Top 6.

We can only control over our own results

Burgess impressed me again this week, I want him to start next week, rather than replaced by Singh.

I would argue that Lorente fouled Krishna first he had his arm totally over one of Roys shoulder drapped across his chest and his head over the other shoulder. Is that not a foul. Compare that the the penalty they got where Burgess had his hand on Kamau's chest !!

Where is the consistancy I ask.

Yes, my issue is over the inconsistency between that incident and Mandi's one.

Great result. Good first half, disappointing second.

No fan of Rudan substitute tactics, bringing players for 10 min is not enough for them to mske some impact.

Obvious Police presence and metal scanners before the game, this is strange.

Pretty sure this season on a few occasions we've brought players on for last 10 and they have made a big impact.

If you look at the ladder, you'll see that only Jets can prevent a top 6 (and finals football) for us.
