Doyle out suspended. Injury cloud over Durante,

Mooy and Wilkinson out on international duty.

International duty, what's that?

Oh, is it that that thing where you assemble the best players from one country and play the best players from another (just for arguments sake let's call this other country "Russia")? And you play at set times of the year (again for illustrative purposes I'll call these allotted time periods "windows"), and those times of the year don't change much and are known well in advance so you have plenty of time to organise a game?

Is it that thing?

What a novel concept.

The best players of other countries are actually interested in participating in these games, and are never on holiday or injured exclusively during such windows?

Allegedly

Good news for the Nix though. For once it's our opposition missing key players in an international window.

Perhaps, but they are not a two man side.

Who will likely fill in for Doyle? Would Danaskos play?

This will be a good check on our prospective cover for left fullback next season.

If Danaskos does not get a contract, I am not sure of another player likely to cover for Doyle.

Manny to LB & Fenton to RB would be my guess.

Sure, but this is the game where I would not play Manny at LB, if you see my point.

It's not even an issue of Manny playing against his future club and potentially pulling his punches.

It is more about needing to rehearse a backup left fullback for next season covering for Doyle.

Maybe they will go easy on him, not wanting to injure their new star signing.

I'm picking 7-2 to the Nix.

Perth Melbourne City gets a fluke in the first minute where it bounces off the back of two of their players heads and slips in the top right, and a late consolation goal 1 minute into injury time.

McGlinchy will make all the haters flinch with 6 fantastic goals, and just for fun Roly strikes from just in front of the 50m mark to score the goal of the league.

EDIT: Can't spell Melbourne.

To his mates he's McGlinchy.  I'm sure he'll let you call him it one day.

But seriously damn I got away with it the other two times.  What are the odds I forget to correct it next week?

That's a surprise - i assumed he'd be out for the rest of the season.

Even if he is on the bench I would not expect to see more of him than maybe the last 10 minutes sub?

Does it piss anyone else off that on an extra long weekend we still get a bollocks kickoff time for the NZ tv market? For all the FFA's whining about our metrics they constantly do what they can to screw them. The last 2 years they've also given us the game on the Monday before Melbourne Cup day in Melbourne. A game at 9:30pm NZT the night before a working day is always going to be bad for our tv audience. Hopefully as part of the negotiations for our extension they have sorted better kickoff times. It makes sense for the FFA too - for instance the Melbourne Cup eve game would be a great one for a Melbourne derby.

We're gonna get a Keisha Castle-Hughes astride Jesse Ryder in the upcoming sequel Whale Rider 2 style shagging!

That's a whole lot harder to base an entire thread off than Tom Cruise. Thanks Coops...
