Wow what a player! Well done Roy, got us over the line singlehandedly.
Always pisses me off when refs decide they'll add on an extra 3 minutes onto time added on for no particular reason.

what a crazy finish. Bring on the final round.
Eastbourne Football Club - we're gonna take the Chatham Cup this year.
Gotta agree with commentary at the end there. For all the talk and upheaval surrounding Rudan leaving Wellington at season's end, Krishna is singlehandedly the most important person at the club right now.
Was an interesting game to watch. We clearly set up for the counter and were happy for them to control the ball in the middle third. It reminds a little bit of how we played at the beginning of the year, but we are a little more drilled to do it now.
Krishna finished well and had his best game for a while (loved Ngata's interview at the end, good luck for next week and we look forward to seeing you here next year).
The team worked really hard, but we need to fix the right-hand side of our defense. Sheridan gives us another point of attack as a target, whilst still being quire mobile. With Williams not scoring again (but working bloody hard) he might be worth a look again as a starter before the finals.
yep. It's a pity Rudan's going to take him to the new aussie club.

surely no other club will match the offer the nix have in front of him. Podcast suggested 7 figures for 3 years
a mill per year to stay in a place he is happy and loved... why would he leave.
The "other club" will buy an outside marquee. Krishna is good, very good, but doesn't bring European pedigree which I think they will want to use as a marketing tool.

Seven figures over three years not for three years.
Really dont think Rudan made the right decision taking off Mandi for Sheridan. While he helped with the goal, thought we got completely dominated in the midfield for the final 30 minutes
Adelaide play Thursday. When will A league (Fox Slorts) learn? Last round all teams should play at the same time ffs.
Kotahitanga. We are one.
can't believe a couple of rudan cheerleaders were holding up a respect Rudan sign. He's shafted the nix and no matter what he says to justify his departure it just doesn't cut it. He'll be coaching the new Sydney club next season and he'll lure 3 or 4 nix players with him.

Congrats Roy and great commitment by all. MC bossed us and will be gutted, but we are a counter attacking side, and can damage anyone with Krishna, Williams, Burgess and Singh on the break.
sorry about the shark talking about the atmosphere lads.
Just a bit infuriating in there with next to no noise.
See you next season.

Felt the same tbh, didn't know what was up with the fever, but I thought there was a really weird atmosphere full stop. No one knew what to do.
We were honking, very little to praise apart from Kurto and Krishna were stand outs. Not sure what the other players were doing tbh. Libby never hit the line or did any overlaps which I was really disappointed with. Sheridan did well but Mandi was missed when he went off.
Glad to get the win, jeez it wasn't deserved, but absolutely take it! Shame there weren't more there tonight, but not unexpected. Here's hoping the footballing gods favour us with results over the next week.
Bet if that was Money - Kurto would have caught it

I am not looking forward to having Kurto defend against us next year instead of for us.
The guy was a frickin champion tonight.
Cracking hatty for Krishna tonight.
Atmosphere was a little quiet but still had fun at the game.
Come on finals.
Loved it, great game of football, some great goals, some great touches, some great defending, from both teams. Singh was the disappointment for me, never looked comfortable up with krishna, and not much better when reverting to midfield. Taylor was sheer class at times. We had a good first half hour, then let city have the midfield. Williams did his deeper role well. We were worse without Mandi, for sure.
Krishna stole Sheridan’s maiden goal there
he scored against the reds
So he did. That's slightly embarrasing.
Changing my username to ’Trophycabinet’ before anyone else for obvious reasons. Get in here and congratulate me in advance. Going to be a big month ahead for the Nix.
Loving the angst on MCFC social media. Not accustomed to hard times and having a succession of poor results. A lot of them saying they'll be following Western United next season - Wouldn't expect anything less from anyone who supports a City Football Group side ?
They pretty much dictated terms, dominated possession, but were not quite as clinical as they would have liked to be. Actually a bit unlucky tonight, another day, they would of scored a couple more and won comfortably.
I fuc ken love football!
here's another fact ... ruden lasted one year of a two year contract in which he had no intention of sticking with the nix. Be prepared for the aussie turncoat to lure some our finest when he scarpers.

A lucky win. Why did we sit back and not pressure the ball? Why did we keep passing it back to Kurto to lump forward straight to their midfield? Credit to Rufer Burgess and Roy.
Oi Oi Edgecumbe... lets have a clean sheet

Hundreds of people, if not thousands, clapped and cheered Rudan off as he walked into the tunnel.
It was far more than just a couple of people who agreed with the 'respect Rudan' sentiment. The haters were in the minority.

I really couldn't understand this tactic tonight. We've not done it before and it certainly didn't work. Awful watching, especially how weak the defence seemed to be.
So I saw Mark Rudan outside one of the hotels after the game. Couldn’t believe my luck as I’d wanted to meet him and ask him for some advice.
I was pretty star struck to be honest, shook his hand, told him thanks for the work he’s done and wished him the best. If I could redo that moment I’d let him get on the footpath and maybe not approached him so hastily lol.
Asked him what advice he had for me an aspiring coach.
Think what you like about him but I really admire him. Totally cool moment, couldn’t believe it.
Sucks to see him go but that’s football.

Those players are out of contract and available to be approached by clubs. There isn't any foul play here that the club won't (or at least shouldn't) be aware of.
e.g. Matt Millar of CCM and Jets
I think you need have a cup of tea and a lie down.

And significantly advanced the careers of Fenton, Rufer, Cacace, Elliot, Waine and Krishna.
We can be pleased that Fornaroli was a bad boy.
And what a mare with Mandi off. Rudan experimenting with contingencies for the playoffs?
Fenton had had a really good year, but I still thought Rudan was high when he said he was one of the league's best in his position.
But, he's right - we've really missed Fenton these past 3 games. Williams did an admirable job last night, but he's not a patch on Louis in the role. And, it removes Willo from being dangerous elsewhere too.
I was happy with Mandi being dragged actually. He was clearly at fault for City's first, and generally played like the father of a newborn child - ah, wait a minute, he is...
These are the games we've been losing by a couple of goals in the past few, ok several at least, years.
It ain't over. COYN.

Thanks for posting what I was just about to write about Fenton The Rudan haters in this thread clearly have not seen Louie until this season and do not appreciate the incredible turnaround, not just in overall fitness but also mindset and confidence of Louis Ferenc Puskas Fenton. To a large degree that was part of Rudan's huge contribution to the team.
Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days
watched the replay this morning and feel we were a little bit lucky to get that win, city had so many chances that they could not put away. i will take it though but not sure perth will be so wasteful in front of goal next week.
