Another performance that really is the absolute pits. Felt bad about not going tonight when I have a season ticket, but think the decision has been justified, and I don't make such decisions lightly.

I bought a Nix 6 when it was needed..havent used any.  I don't feel bad given general quality of last months games.

Roly's goal but great awareness from Watson. He's one I really want back next year.

Agree on keeping Watson, he's been the highlight of a shark night. McGlinchey, what the fudge

Typical Wellington penalty...

Watson has at least made an impact.

Permalink Permalink

I thought he was clipped. Very poor from McGlinchey.

yeah I like Watson's uncouth aggressiveness up front. He's like a striker version of Siggy.

HIs foot was hit as he was coming in to kick the ball. Clear penalty.

What an absolute disappointment McGlinchey is. I can see now why Celtic punted him.

Chance of a miraculous draw and he takes a penalty like that. Good grief.

Watson should have taken the penalty. Would have hit the shark out of it.

I think Watson deserves a contract. Big physical presence but his movement and pace isn't too bad either.

I thought Watson looked like he wanted to take it. McGlinchey pulled rank. Unfortunately the only thing McGlinchey really does pull at the moment is in his shorts.

A gruelling watch but hardly surprising given 6 players just aren't good enough to start in the A League any more. Like what Doyle offers going forward, but signings so far will make no difference being so defensively appalling. Lia and Riera are the other two.

Home form this season has been nothing short of embarrassing. The last 3 home games have been disgraceful. Merrick has to be accountable. Wonder what he'll say after this pile of shark?

Riera has been disappointing lately.

Out of this starting 11 the following players wont start next year:

Muscat / Siggy / Lia / Powell

We've replaced two with much better quality and need this to continue for Muscat and Siggy. We need a solid base to work from, not what we have currently.

If it wasn't for the license issues I'd wonder if he'd be under pressure.

He has not had a good couple of seasons despite making claims of this been his best ever squad etc etc.

If by midway next year we are not top 4, he should go despite the good work he has done with bringing up young NZ players... because more important than that is producing a team to inspire young players and what we have now does not do that!

and end of last season when we had the chance to get home advantage for finals series...so just a continuation really.

Merrick seems to have addressed the away form somewhat, but has simultaneously destroyed our home record?!

For all the hard core Nix fans it may be hard to swallow but the reality is unless we get rid of at least five players we will be no better off next season. Muscat is still lucky to be on the pitch. Thank heavens he is leaving- won't get a game at Melbourne. Ben retiring, Dura getting slower.

Lia just not up to it and Mac will not do us any good playing up front.

Even with 10 men I expect MV to score again.

In top 3 for creating chances and top 5 for crosses(but Im not a fan either).  Interesting that with Finkler and Barbarousos we will have 3 of the top 10 at both.

Bur these two are not strikers and between them have not scored that may goals.

Can't blame Ernie. Not being able to sign any quality players until the license fiasco was sorted simply meant we weren't on a level playing field. Now 6 clubs with smart recruitment have lifted the bar again for the A League.

the next part of the equation then or tho is that are Krishna and Powell the ones to be on the end of those extra chances?..
