Thought they created the far better chances against City and were quite easily the better team against CCM. Hopefully they don't start burying them against us. Winnable game, though I think we'll have to play well for more than 20-30 minutes this time.

Yeah the Jets don't seem like the easy beats that we thought they may be having watched the first two games. I think this is a 1-0 result.

Wait. We're not playing WSW or Brisbane, are we?

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

I get the feeling that this will be hardly watchable.

But I'll take an ugly 1-0 win anytime. #fingerscrossed

Fair call but who would you take off the bench for him? A broad statement is great but you have provided nothing constructive to back it up.
Phoenix are in a good position at the moment that they have a number of players right on the cusp it's excitin

Not when you jinx us with these sorts of posts.

Lia for starters. We have to go out and win our home games.

Roy and Boyd are two who would consider themselves unlucky to have missed out so far. Roy especially it seems silly given he's a flaming import. Boyd cos he seemed to really be hitting his straps last season and to me anyway it seems as though he would really work well with the formation that Ernie has put together.

Well they are both competing for McGlinchey and Burns' position. There is distance between those two and Boyd/Roy.

This.

But how good is it that the problem is one of too much quality?

Seriously. Think about the fact that we (well some of us) are genuinely bleating about those being omitted, and if we win on Sunday we're off to our best EVER start.

Well, I'd have thought initially Cunningham and Lia's. And given that it could be played as a fluid front three- Brockie's. I'm not really a huge Roy fan, but as I said think Boyd going on last year's form is unlucky to have been out of the mix so far. And it seems as if he is well behind Cunningham and Roy in the mix.

I would drop one of Fenton/Lia to make room for Boyd/Krishna. Personally I would like to see a bench of Italiano, Boxall, Fenton, Cunnigham, Boyd. I think it would give Ernie more flexibility to change a game off the bench

When we're leading with fifteen to go and our midfield are tiring, I'd want Lia as an option to bring on

Oi Oi Edgecumbe... lets have a clean sheet

Boxall covers him to some extent having played there a little. But still i understand what your saying.

I guess I just want a bigger bench.

Have you any idea how much a Bunning's outdoor chair costs?

Fireup!

Forecast for Sunday is mint!

Tell everyone you know, Nix are playing at 5pm this Sunday. Get involved.

Have a look at this too if you don't already know about it.

So who do we have competing for Brockie's position?

Brockie is apparently an important decoy player, who runs around sucking players in and lets the others play football.

I guess he still has the reputation of being dangerous outside the box so needs to be marked reguardless of his current form.

$11 each. I was looking at them on Saturday. The real cost is in those triangular foam things that go around them

I think soon other teams will realise they don't need to mark him.

He's so inconsistent though, you'd mark him just in case because he can score a goal from anywhere at any time, the problem is that its pretty much at random.

That seems like it gives us less flexibility if someone gets injured, to be honest. Having Fenton on the bench means you can cover both fullback at a pinch and wide midfield positions.

Its all part of his cunning masterplan instigated at the start of last season.  Look bollocks for a long period until they stop marking you then start banging them in for fun.  GENUIS

This is a team that beat us while playing with 10 men for 37mins in preseason.  I don't get the easy beats tag.  What am I missing?

imho:  Jeronimo, Griffiths, Virgili are no walk in the park, and have enough in behind them to set them away.  And we failed to create a lot of chances against them in that game, so they can't be totally shoddy in defence.  I suspect we have improved and got our midfield and front three more fine tuned since then, but I struggle to see easy beats.
