Just the same when Dane Nielsen went to the Warriors.

Dane Neilson and Dane Neilsen. A rarity that anyone actually bothered spelling the name correctly.

(Sorry, I know it's not the end of the world, but it does my head in, especially at the moment, where it looks like my club will be gone by the end of this season)

Sorry bro.

LOL, that's OK mate :-)

So from the above, does that mean, after watching Monday's game, I could also put the recording of the game on to play each night when I go to bed for a week, thus giving them 8 clicks on the ratings count overall?

*might be semi-serious here*

Was thinking the same thing - I have a series link for all A League games but I only usually watch 2 or 3 a round and then delete them - maybe now I'll just click play on each one before I delete it

Yeah to the best of my knowledge that would do it.

Hope the active supporters over there are preparing a #SaveTheNix banner; and I was sad to see that your club owners were the only clubs not actively been propped up by the FFA at the moment not to support us.

Not sure about the NT, but the South End are discussing the possibility of a banner. I think as long as we have to do the least work possible, it will get up.

As somebody said last night, they haven't come out and supported us, but crucially they also haven't supported the FFA! I'm hoping that Kosta's tweet of support might be an indication that they may well support us but, for whatever reason, aren't choosing to make that support public.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

There should be a few around, there was a picture of roar fans making a huge orange and black #savethenix banner.

You'd think that the Victory fans would do it  -without us they wouldn't have had Marco and wouldn't currently have Kosta.

Also, anyone else think that $4 for the draw or $5.25 for the Nix win look like good odds? Teams with off field crap going on often step up on the field....

Those odds have certainly lengthened since the shark hit the cods. Clearly punters think we're going to give up.

Interestingly.  I've been thinking.

Sky pay more than the rumoured 180k - I've had that confirmed from reliables sources. Ok so $200k NZ dollars.

Plus Sky do coverage of all the Phoenix matches at a cost of up to 40k a Game.  I reckon that means Sky are effectively paying between 800 and 900k for the rights each season, not the pittance witch Gallop and his cohorts would have you believe.

The coverage from SKY has been cheap"O forever, What do they charge for turning on the lights $35000?. Even the Aussies wanting us to stay in the league hate the SKY coverage and can see its cheap"O. There is no way in this world SKY's total input would be close to $800k. Whoever told you that hard news is blowing wind up ya date.

But if I am wrong - Why is SKY not correcting or putting the FFA / Gallop into place??.

The $40k was not the cost to Sky per game, it was the cost to FOX to produce a game in Australia... Fox total production costs for the season, divided by the number fo games the cover works out at $40k (AU$) per game.

The equation is the same as what Hard News presented.

If Sky didn't renew the rights, FOX would have to start producing 13.5 more games (in NZ) each season. (13 one season, 14 the next).

13.5 x $40k = $540,000

Plus the figure Sky pay for the trights = the total value of having Sky having the rights.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

but are production costs included in what fox pays?

The worth of the Nix in terms of a NZ broadcast deal is  $300k plus whatever it would cost fox to film 13 extra games in Australia (ie if the team were based there instead).

No, Fox pays that themselves. But the $40k figure is correct. That's how much it costs Fox to produce a game.

How much Fox pay the FFA is irrelevant to that stat.

yes but people here are arguing that sky pays more than 180k because of production costs, but that doesn't seen relevant to the cap contributions.

It's not, it's relevant to the point that FFA say that we don't contribute enough through our TV deal.

Plus I know for a fact that Sky pay more than the $180k figure for the rights to the A-League being bandied around.

who shouldn't they refute it then? Wasn't it the ffa who announced it had gone up from 100k to 180k?
