Any team news? Is dura back? If so is manny still there or Doyle? Approach to start?

Dura is back. Not sure but would expect Manny ahead of Doyle, but Doyle hardly did himself any harm with a man of the match performance.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Phoenix fans. We have to win them over one fan at a time.

Appiah not in the squad according to the "ins and outs". Not sure how accurate those are though

I'd like to see Doyle retain his place - doesn't send a great message when he plays perhaps his best game for us and is then benched. (and Louis who plays his worst retains his place)

To be fair, this can also apply to Manny who had a unexpectedly good game at CB. But yep, the old Ricki philosophy of having to earn your place back. Perhaps Doyle to start and then Manny off the bench? Or Dura off the bench?

I find the idea of not starting our best CB (and captain) bizarre, especially against Berisha and the Victory away. I think our defence has done adequately without him but I think it would have done better if he was there, and on at least a couple of goals we've conceded it has looked like poor communication/organisation in the backline was at least partly to blame, and that's something Dura will definitely bring back.

Manny isn't a CB and just because he filled in there and did alright doesn't mean he should keep that position ahead of Dura. He's more comfortable in either fullback role, and Fenton has been poor IMO all 3 games this season, so he is the obvious one to drop for me. It might help him get his confidence back too. I think that he might keep his place and Doyle will make way but that's only because Fenton looks to get forward more. Either way, I expect to see Siggy and Dura in the middle, and Manny back to fullback

Fenton and Doyle as fullbacks

Manny to bench

What Louis needs is Lia on his side to guide him through.

The only problem with Louis that I see (from only 3 games of course) is that he seems to be a little isolated on the wing going forward and instead of taking on the defender and making forward runs past the defence he is opting to come in towards the centre. Is that a deliberate ploy by Ernie or is it the opposing team forcing Louis into doing that?

Stream it from the cubicle... just don't make too many excited noises.

I think Manny will be the one to drop out. Fenton gives us more of an attacking outlet which I cant see Merrick wanting to give up and Doyle deserves to start after last week.

What it does say to Siggy and Dura is, that there is some competition atleast for their spot so stay in form.

It will be so satisfying if we come out and  just give the Victory a hiding.

Our fantastic victory was tainted by the news, now lets taint the news for the FFA by being the best of the best.

If we chuck Louis to the bench then, presuming Doyle and Manny aren't playing terribly, we can chuck him in an attacking role later in the game and hope he plays amazing like he did in that comeback game vs. CCM last season.

I would not mind keeping Louis on the bench and having Manny and Doyle as FBs.  If Dura is fit he should start, if he is not then no point in him being on the bench at all. At the moment I see Louie as a weak link in our backline and the T...... the Victory boys would zero on him right away.  He has enough speed to be a good sub late in the game but he is too tentative in a tackle to start the game.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

$5 on the draw to hopefully give some play money for the Cup 2moro.  Wont be fussed if we win and my $5 is lost.  Will wake up to the result.

I think it will be Doyle to bench, sadly. Louis is a big part of the system taking the ball up. Even though we would like him to do something other than cut back inside.

I'm nervous about this. Victory have been dominating but not scoring and could be due a big one. We have shown we can win in Victoria and can play exciting attractive possession football. I honestly see this as a coin toss, but it could end up being a banana peel.
