Why do we only press as a team in the second half on defense?

I don't think Steinmann showed enough mongrel in the lead up to the first goal either.

Surely it's instructions from Talay - every game this season, we've had Steinmann and Rufer backing off, backing off until it's too late. 

They have about a minute on the ball in our defensive half, that just shouldn't ever happen

what the fudge is the point of this formation. What the fudge is the point of playing two cdm's if they're not closing down anyone in midfield. Tactics are woeful.

That was really disappointing. Not surprising but really disappointing.

We need to have more urgency in defence... we always seem to play the first half as if we are simply waiting for a counter. Which would be fine if we have Waine up top as he is our quickest striker, but we don't.

Both our strikers are sitting behing the center circle and defending... its negative, defeatist and has been proven since game one to not work!

And now FUCKEN SKY WON'T PLAY THE HALF TIME SHOW... FOR FUCK SAKE SKY, YOU HAVE THE COVERAGE RIGHTS ITS PLAYING ANYWAY, SHOW IT!!

City are passing through our lines FAR too easily.

Talay is a revolutionary in disguise. Think Contes 3 at the back in the Prem, or Peps false 9 or even Sheffield’s overlapping CBs.  Surely that’s the only reason and it’ll all come together soon enough .....

I just think our formation and tactics are both not working with the players we have got.

This doesn't look great for Talay... Tactics are woeful. The 4-2-2-2 leaves so much space in the middle which City are exploiting. I would really like to see us change asap but unfortunately can't see it happening due to Talay's pure stubbornness to change when things aren't going right. Really showing his coaching inexperience

I don't mind us losing when it looks like there's a plan, but they harried our weak flanks and we gave way too much space in front of the box.  Like how Perth beat us. 

So Talay needs to come up with Plan B. If he doesn't have that and can't turn this team around I'd like to see him out the door before the end of the month.

Bad tactics or not we desperately need to get something out of this match. Talay may have been given some leeway this season, which just about everyone so far agrees is necessary for the future of the club, but if morale goes in that team the season could end up a total disaster. We need points on the board ASAP.

Not just him though. Steinmann's pass was awful then he barely made an attempt at getting it back. For such a big bloke he is oddly tentative in the tackle, especially today.

Surely Payne or TAHW deserve a chance soon.
