So after the leagues first ever international break, we are back home against Adelaide. Can we turn around this losing streak, will we line up with a defencive formation or will Rudan change it up again.

I'm an optimistic pessimist.
I'm positive things will go wrong.

big game this! not quite must win, but a definite requirement for better play and not losing in the manner we lost a week ago.

Hopefully the lads have spent the break getting their shark sorted. Still think we are just too same same with our attacking options which makes it easier to disrupt and defend against. We really need more options - hopefully we get something in the January window and we are not too far down the table that it's not too late.

Hoping to see 4 at the back and not expecting Doyle to played based on the serious looking knee brace he was wearing Saturday night. Would be nice to see a 4-2-3-1 type thing, would give us a little more control in the midfield, although I would be a little concerned about a CB partnership of Taylor/Dura. Wanting Taylor/Fox instead

Kurto

Fenton - Taylor - Dura - Cacace

Mandi - Rufer

Burns - Singh - Williams

Krishna

Wouldn't mind that, although no direct replacements for the front 3, Nichols and Burgess could provide the attacking options with a slight change of formation if needed.

I'd probably do almost the same, bar Fox for Dura. Kopa off the bench for Mandi if/when he starts to blow. We're definitely short on attacking options though, definitely need a No 9 - how much better does that side look with a proper striker and Krishna wide?

Their not-strikers can score, ours can't.

1:0 then. Each side gets a penalty but Kurto saves against Adelaide..

Krishna to tap a rebound in after his kick is parried away.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

Maybe I'll repaint my lounge on Saturday so at least I can watch paint dry if we play like the last two games.

Haven't heard about the $10k crowd challenge. Maybe they should make it $5k to give us a fighting chance.

Sadly could be a struggle to maintain my 100% attendance record due to having angiogram friday, chemo couldnt keep me away hopefully this dosnt. So if you see me crawling to the stadium give me a rev up for being to bloody slow.

Weird, maybe a precautionary thing? Was hobbling down Courtenay place with Reuben Way

Yup. Even if we lose we must create more chances and make them work for the win.

To move to a back 4, could see a box or diamond midfield easily accommodating the players in our squad - except for RB where there is likely more pressure both in attack and defence.

Yes I'd like to see all 3 of Williams, Krishna and Burns on the field together to give us more attacking threat. This can only really be done if we go to a back 4.

Read "Inverting the Pyramid" by Jonathan Wilson. It explains why 4-4-2 fell out of favour

https://www.amazon.com/Inverting-Pyramid-History-S...

Basically the structure of the 4-4-2 isn't good for dealing with teams playing 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 - you get outnumbered in crucial parts of the field. Seeing as those formations are popular 4-4-2 became less popular

People like Coldplay and voted for the Nazis. You can't trust people.

I just hope that Rudan does something different with the team this week - anything to show that he and the team have learned from the last two defeats and they have worked on a solution in the two weeks they've had off.

Yes I know what you mean. But its a risk v reward type thing and more than anything we need to score some goals.

But actually think Rudan will most likely stick with a back 5 and try and get more value out of the wingbacks.

Yeah don’t have a problem with Nix handing out free tix as a one off, to any group of people (whether based on gender, race, socio eco etc) who wouldn’t normally go to a game. Even if just 1% become future regular fans, it’s worth it longer term. A normal Nix home crowd would be 80-90% male?

I see NZ Basketball have given free tix to a bunch of Syrian refugee families, when Tall Blacks play Syria in Wellington. In essence not that dissimilar.

NZF could learn alot off NZ Basketball. Being part of Asia is working for them.

Yeah I kinda get your point, but like Coochiee says it’s a great opportunity to bring in a few new fans who wouldn’t normally go, plus it’s a one off. Pretty good initiative, a lot of guys will want to bring their girlfriends along

I don't see anyone calling the Nix ageist when they do the "free kids with a paying adult" deal.

It's just a marketing ploy to try and get more bums on seat.

However, in the name of gender equality, you hope some day the will also do a father's/grandfather's/bloke complimentary entry deal too.

Just relax, take it easy

Not a good take either, but hey! The Football Ferns got a great crowd against

Japan and we're playing at least as well as they did in that game...
