I don't know much about the latter, but interested to know why you think that?

They play a bit like you posting on this forum.

It's not my fault this is the only forum on the internet which doesn't prevent duplicate posts or allow me to delete them :d

Also, I'd really like to see more of TAHW - everytime I've seen him he looked good; he was good against Strikers in that cup game as well when he got some time.

Tim Payne will be fine

Tim Payne is starting at right-back on Sunday.

Payne did look good in the opener (particularly his delivery into the box) but it's a different kettle o' fish chasing the game against a team sitting deep (Snakes) and a Victory side who'll actively look to expose a debutante. Thankfully it's an understrength Victory attack which should hopefully give us time to settle. We desperately need to not concede in the first half.

Elvis v Payne will be interesting

Luckily Nabbout is out

How long is Fenton out for? 3 weeks? It just might give time for Payne to shine I hope.

I really rate him. Tall, strong, plays out well from the back. And mobility isn't an issue. He will need games, but IMO is a player who will eventually become a very good A-League CD.

He's behind Payne in terms of ability and experience, but Payne is needed elsewhere.

I think the situation is that, understandably, De Vere's conditioning is poor, presumably as a result of his injury problems. But the problem is that he is not looking a whole lot sharper than he did early in pre-season and he is being given every opportunity by Talay to get himself up to speed. I think sooner or later, even if he doesn't break down, patience will run out and Hudson-Wihongi will get the call.

Maybe some of those mentioned havnt been given a chance because they havnt shown in training they deserve to be there.

I wouldn't be surprised to see me starting soon, judging by the Shyte I've witnessed.

Hey guys, is it just me or is the Aleague commentary from Australia always very quiet and barely audible.

I'm finding the commentary at a nice background level. I can discern the speech, but it doesn't override the atmosphere. Previous seasons,  I've found the commentary dominating the coverage almost to detriment of watching the match.
I'm watching 2nd half WUNvWSW live via MySky satellite. With audio going from MySky to a decent (but by no means audiophile) stereo mini system and I'm listening via cheap headphones.

I swear if we play 4-2-2-2 again I’ll ... I’ll... I’ll do something drastic but with minimal consequences.

We will

Formation not the issue for me; individual performances at DM and CB costing us.

I feel the DM issue could relate to the formation AND individual performances. We’re putting a lot of work in the DMs and backing off the ball like last week isn’t their job and with two AMs can they be expected to help out as well as the could. My other problem with the formation is the lack of width and support offensively and defensively for the full backs.
Ah we shall see though, this could be the game where it all clicks into place (but I said that last week).

I think another problem is a lot of players- unlike say Krishna or Williams- have potential at this level and in a given position or several given positions, but not a track  record of doing so. McCowatt or Piscopo? Hard to say. At this stage there's no real Krishnas/Manny Muscats you can lock in and forget about. Maybe Cacace and Taylor, but outside that I don't think we know our best 11 players.

The formation too, is still in the experiment stage- compared to Rudan using it at a lower level.

Good signs though I think. I worry we're not ruthless enough with under performance- think Nichols, Doyle etc.

That's a fair point and always a risk with promoting a lot of youth. There's not many dependables; maybe Rufer. Maybe Marinovic. I think Ball is that guy too; but he's not a natural goal scorer.

Ball is great, but slow. Marinovic- yes. Had actually forgotten him as he is just the beast prowling the line. Rufer was last year, he's not settled in his partnership or role this year and there's Piscopo, Devlin, TAWH and Payne all breathing down his neck.

Would've been good to see Waine get a start ahead of Sotirio - And I don't think Sotirio has been horrible, but Waine has been making things happen when he get's on.

Need a big performance in that midfield today, Rufer & Steinmann been below par so far this season. Time to turn it around against the tards.

COYN!

Looking forward to seeing Cacace back in, but even more pessimistic about the result with Hooper out injured.
