I'm worried that Ernie might slot Riera into the LB role and either play Ridenton at DM or shift Roly further back. We will need Riera keeping tight on Carrusca all game.

Nonsense. May as well put Roly in goal.

The ACFc fans said he played there occasionally for him and one game early last season, he was subbed on for Caira to play LB.

Thank you sir, I stand corrected.

I don't ever remember seeing Riera playing LB for ACFC and I've seen almost all home games since he joined them.

This will be a tough game. Adelaide along with the Victory look like the benchmark this season. Slightly concerned about Mabil and Cirio down the wings. Manny got exposed on quite a few occasions last week. Hopefully JBS or whoever ends up playing left back can handle the pace and skill of Mabil. Carrusca has been pulling the strings in midfield.. will be important to close him down and prevent him controlling/influencing the possession/tempo of the game.

Probably will be a challenging game for us but this would have to be one of the most unpredictable professional leagues in the world, so who knows.

Analysis of some of Adelaides games this season:

A couple of interesting points is that Adelaide play with Malik in defence, the issue of the last couple of games with good passers of the ball in opposition defence will again be there, and  rather than playing a 4231, which our central midfield sort of is the mirror of and easier to assign marking duties, they have lined up recently as 4123. It will be interesting to see how we press, Isaias is an important player in starting their attacks at DM, and also trying to minimise time/options for Malik to hit their wide players with diagonal balls. Adelaide have also played a 343 this season and in the FFA cup, it would mean they can match us man for man in midfield (which would put pressure on us playing out) and with the ball it will be hard for us to press their defence.

Currently marginally in front after the windfall from CCM but also the hurdle at AAMI Park.  Time for a bit of who dares wins.

I only remember nightmares playing against Adelaide away; similar to Victory away, really, except this time Adelaide are full strength.

What do people know about Andrew Blake? Also Tom Doyle apparently is returning from injury but Hicks is injured.

See Blake play a few times for the U20s on TV and a couple of times live. Midfielder, seems relatively solid without being outstanding. He's young though (probably 18?) so I'd imagine he's improved a fair bit training in a professional environment.

So Antonis is not allowed to play for Sydney tonight due to pulling out of Aussie squad with an injury... To be consistent dies that mean Doyle can't play for us? Would hate to pick up an automatic 3-0 loss.

Anyone know where the best place to get text updates for the match? I have to work tonight but still want to follow the action as detailed as possible. I've got the official a-league app but the text commentary is very infrequent.
