A number of players out with All Whites or injury.

Oliver Sail, Michael Boxall, Thomas Doyle, Louis Fenton, Michael McGlinchey, Tyler Boyd, Jeremy Brockie, Joel Stevens

Possible line-up:

Subs: Italiano, Ridenton, Rufer, Hicks, Kenny

[Now in yellow, plus added Rufer to 5 man bench]

I can't wait for the game...

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Phoenix fans. We have to win them over one fan at a time.

Too much red.

Get rid.

Wow, we won't have any spare players from our first squad huh? Just Rufer. Can't wait for Rufer, Ridenton and Hicks to run off to Victory later this year and complain about not getting chances...

So fired up for the Phoenix! Great short week to wipe away the Melbourne blues...

I think without Fenton playing we might need a bit more width. That is why I would probably pick Cunningham ahead of Krishna.

Adelaide away is always a nightmare, even when we are at full strength :/

It's not a bad game to be at half strength for. Even at full strength we would be struggling to win.

I agree but I'm looking at that side and thinking it's not bad at all and might surprise.  Apart from FB and the potential lack of any width it looks pretty solid to me and the bench will be fizzing to get a run.

Not expecting miracles, but looking forward to it.

Any Adelaide players out on international duty ?

He dribbles a lot and the opposition dont like it - you can see it all over their faces. (Ron Atkinson)

I think only Hall their replacement goalie will be with the Olyroos.

Subs bench is 5 not 4 so add in Rufer - That's our entire senior squad. Hopefully we don't pick up any injuries!

The only time Italiano is not injured and could play, Moss did not get the All Whites call.

The yellows that irk me are the stupid ones like chipping the ref etc.

If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid

Can see us getting humped. Would be a good point if we got a draw

Yes I am. My mate Andreas and I are flying over on Friday 14th.

And when I was in Melbourne on Monday I met a Nix fan, Jesse, who is from Adelaide. Looking forward to meeting up with him before the game immensely.

I can't see how we are THAT much more likely to be humped? With Fenton (injured) JBS will really have a point to prove if he wants a spot over Boxall, the only other difference is Krishna who also has a point to prove. Other than that its our first team?

Good point..but we will still get done.

A small town in Europe........looking to bounce straight back up....well that aint going to happen

JBS is a left back, Boxall is a reasonable right back.

Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

I doubt it'll happen but I'd start Kenny on left with Krishna in middle of front three. Then no need for Lia in midfield with Roly in there with ARod and Riera. Not too bad a line up especially as the guys coming in will have points to prove

This is what I would like to see. I think if it works it's could be pretty deadly

It's tempting but I think Lia has played well in his last two games.

I think start Cunningham and keep Krishna off the bench to come on as a impact sub

Adelaide at Hindmarsh. Surely the temptation will be to try and repeat the blocking of the damn and then pinching a winner?

JBS is an unknown quantity. May actually turn up with something, who knows? Though I'd have more confidence in Boxall than him at the moment, the Sherminator may actually have something to offer on attack. Only find out when it happens.

What's our record at Hindmarsh, stats people? I remember we've been crushed there on several occasions.

I'm worried that Ernie might slot Riera into the LB role and either play Ridenton at DM or shift Roly further back. We will need Riera keeping tight on Carrusca all game.

That could be quite dangerous. Riera would be to slow to have in at LB

Away to Adelaide and Away to Melbourne are our toughest games by far. Would be extremely happy with a draw.

Ridenton the better option than JBS based on performance today.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

Nonsense. May as well put Roly in goal.

He doesn't rate himself in goal but I think he is just being modest.

The ACFc fans said he played there occasionally for him and one game early last season, he was subbed on for Caira to play LB.

Bruce Djite will be out of the Nix game due to injury according to Fox Sports News on Sky tonight.

Thank heavens for small mercies...

Fingers crossed they'll suffer further injuries and cards against the Mariners in the FFA Cup semi on Wednesday night too (just as the Victory did before we played them the other week).
