Are we sure that Roux has been cleared as eligible for NZ - not born here, hasn't lived here for 5 years after the age of 18? Did his exemption come through in the post-Olympic qualifying shambles?

You're confusing Roux and Deklan Wynne, who started today at RB. Roux moved to New Zealand age 3 and went to Mount Albert Grammar. Either way, Wynne must've been cleared because he played today.

They were both born in South Africa and moved to NZ as kids

Didn't they say that every player they requested was cleared? So either they didn't request Roux or he's cleared.

Yeah, but when has Storm Roux ever had an eligibility issue with playing for New Zealand? He played at age group level as well. The issue always was with Wynne who had never been in NZ before being a teenager.

Wynne played and that whole thing happened last year so it's safe to say he's cleared.

Sky Sports were running ads during the AW game today saying this match is on SS4 at 9.30pm.

So is it 7.30 or 9.30?

Bevan, kick off is at 7:30 pm NZ.

Wynne had played other games for NZ age group sides (including in the U20WC here in NZ) too, that didn't make him eligible, it just meant no one had questioned it before that U23 semi final. What came out of that was that NZF had been misapplying the eligibility criteria for ages and there were quite a few players who weren't actually eligible but who had been playing for NZ sides. On paper it appears that Roux was one of them, so I was just wondering if we know for sure if he ever got an exemption. Exemptions are granted to individuals so just because Wynne got one doesn't mean Roux got one

Right so I did some googling and according to Roux himself on a CCM fan podcast his eligibility issues have been resolved. But there was media reporting after the Wynne saga that said he was omitted from AWs squads while his exemption got sorted, and he hasn't played since

10 team league and we somehow we have a team in Yellow and Black playing vs Black and Yellow.

I don't think the strips clash at all. I can tell both teams apart easily on a small screen with a low res stream (thanks FanPass)

Yeah it's not too bad actually, I'm watching on a computer screen and wrote that before I got a wider shot of the game.

Were you expecting an Aussie to not butcher the indigenous part of an anthem?

Whenever I see a foul throw I wonder why I bother watching a game. No excuse for it.

Pretty confident that the Salties are wearing Navy and Yellow

The quality of this game is so low.

We are clearly a makeshift team with a lot of first teamers out but I would have thought that the Salty Dogs would have been more organised than this.
