After listening to Ernies post match press conference I feel a whole lot better. Really pleased he is our coach. He has experiance and maturity and won't panic. He did make quite a few interesting points. One about Brockie. He said he needs to do more than pop up two or three times a match and try for a goal. Which has always been a criticism of Brockies play and why he got dropped by the Jets. It sounded to me that Ernie had put the hard word on him...:.."get more involved or else" Without Brockies goals there is little to justify his place. At least Boyd buzzed around around, made himself available for passes and made a couple of good runs.

He also said that the team did OK without Carlos...which is true. I thought Hicks did some really good stuff in that game....he has great feet in tight situations. If Carlos did throw his toys out of the cot and left then the prospect of Stein playing deeper does not bother me. Stein looks good as a playmaker and it would take the goal scoring pressure off him. Bench Brockie, get someone else in up front in the transfer window in January

Yeh Ernie is amazing to be able to speak like that after another gut wrenching game. Well done to him.

Oi Oi Edgecumbe... lets have a clean sheet

non-believers should check it out - there's an 80% chance you'll see a good open attractive game
it'll also restore your faith in new zealand footy

Brockie goes to the bench, Ifill starts. Stein goes to the bench, Boyd starts. Kenny goes to the bench, Bertos starts. Sigmund goes to the bench, Boxall starts. That looks knee jerk and to a degree it is, but we are 10 games in and these guys are not performing to the level they should. Kenny is starting to look better but only in comparison to where he was round 1 and not where he should be as an import and international footballer. How he gets picked for Costa Rica on this form is Jeremy Christie-esque.

Where does Hernandez go, to the pub?

While i love the way Ifill plays not sure where some of you get the confidence that he can last if he starts.I really cant see him going much longer than 45min.

If Alex Rufer not in the squad on this Sunday, I will burn my Phoenix tees..

Norwich City supporter since 1992, New Zealand supporter since 2010 but without Rory Fallon's winning goal against Bahrain, I won't know about New Zealand Football.

Why not start Ifill and see how long he lasts??  Try and actually get ahead in a game for once.  How long have we led in a match this season?  I can only think of about 20 or 30 minutes against Perth plus a wee while against WsW at home

We've been ahead for 61 minutes out of 900 this season.

That's not very good!!!

Back to Ifill, if Sydney can get 90 minutes out of Del Piero I don't see why we can't get more out of Ifill
