We've deserved some of the cards but at least one was a super obvious simulation by Melbourne.

But I feel like we haven't been fouling any more than Melbourne has, how are we 6 cards to none?

We would have gotten a yellow for that.

Sub Lia please... he keeps getting 90 minutes but he creates nothing and we are a goal down!

It's a shame there's no Rufer on the bench.

its more of shame we cant score enough goals I doubt Rufer would change that.

9 yellow cards = 3 minutes of stoppage time?

Watson has looked good... he might be worth a start ahead of Kosta.

Subs make changes to a game, look how good we're looking with Ridenton and Watson.

A much better second half, but a disappointing result. Both pens were sharke and should have never been given.

Ref had a mare and City should have 2 - 3 cards before we had our first... he's now given 22 cards in 3 games this ref, what a joke.

Yet another Nix game of utter frustration. Good stuff second half but nothing to show for it.

watson really needs to be starting, his physical nature draws in defenders and allows room for roy and kosta

I've identified something called Phoenix Syndrome. It's when a player of real quality and class is signed for us and suddenly becomes ordinary and anonymous. Hernandez; Barbarouses (the second time); Rossi; Finkler; Bonevacia. Club culture? Coach?

When a ref gives very few cards in the 1st half( when he should) then you know what is going to happen in the next 45 mins.

He was shocking. Both penalties were poor decisions.

Hard to win those games when you have a referee like that. Just so strange some of those calls and cards. How you give that City penalty when they are both pulling shirts. (Fornaroli was still holding his shirt as he hit the ground trying to do the bicycle). Plus no yellow cards to City while they kick the shark out of Finkler...

Nix weren't perfect and made silly errors but we looked better in that second half and hard to swallow a lost like that.

Not a real fan, just pretending to be one!

We're dropping too many games this season, too many points on the table that won't be there in April when we need them. We deserved a point today.

Spain '82 is where it all really began for me. There were a few moments before, plenty of moments after, but that World Cup was the zeitgeist.

your right. Second penalty was just a square up for the first. Just highlights how few chances we are actually creating. Finkler has taken a lot of pressure off Roly yet Roly still goes missing too much for mine.

ref was inexperienced, didn't set standards early and the players took advantage.

Parkhouse is not a defender, too soft. And if City were not plastic enough already, on comes Oasis at full time

Long haired player in the post show said they knew we would come out and cheat.

Fudge off mate, the worst dive I saw in the game was from Melbourne.

You can see what Ernie wants from him.

On the other hand, I can't help but wonder what that game would have been like if Watson and Fenton had started. Watson seems like he's in good nick and Fenton is a better defender than Parkhouse.

Hopefully the ref, Kurt Ams, gets looked as, because as someone else said, 22 cards in 3 games is beyond shocking. He was amateurish occasionally. He has no idea how to control the match. Even some of the City cards were unnecessary. Control the match, ref, don't let this shark happen. The City penalty was pretty soft.

Having said that, I wish we had brought on Watson way, way earlier. 83rd minute, seriously Ernie? Come on, we were trailing since the 71st minute, give the lad—whose last match was awesome—some minutes so he can have an impact. Especially considering how poorly Barbarouses performed; he should've been subbed off earlier.

Finkler got hacked so much you'd think he's a computer server.

Yeah, saw that. Can't believe none of the aficionados plonked on the coach didn't say something.

Watson needs to start. His presence alone unsettles defences and we need to start scoring goals.

yet another disappointing game in many aspects!

Rreffing very uneven - sure we fouled and may have deserved many of the yellows but Finkler was hacked 7-8 ties and not one drew a yellow in fact I think it drew two final warning from Ams.

Our primary method of clear attacking chances seemed to come from good crosses, Parkhouse hit a couple as did Krishna - but what's the point when your target is 5 foot nothing? Start Watson and use him as the front man, have Krishna and Kosta running off him!

Finally - I feel sorry for Moss, he kept us in the game and was undone by a lucky deflection and a bad decision by the ref when "play on" was the fair call.

This. Any game we haven't dominated this season we've got zero points and as you say, that really hurts come late season. They need to find a way to draw those sorts of games away or they'll always be in the bottom 3.

When we get yellow cards is a serious factor. We must surely play more minutes than any other A League team. This game was a joke. At one point it was 6 - Nil. Then the Ref thought he had better even up the numbers and so made it 6 - 3 with 5 minutes to go. The joke on the field was the Ref.

The guy in their team who looks like an ugly girl said in his interview that 'we knew they would come out after half time and cheat', wtf? They were the ones who were hacking us all game and got lucky with the penalties.

"We knew they were gonna come out and ... cheat" Get fudgeed you git, Finkler got fouled off the park and they kicked the shark out of us.

Edit: From the info further down the thread, I withdraw and apologise.  Never heard the term 'cheat' in that context.

Melbourne City were just reinforcing their plastic-ness of the club by just appropriating their parent's club culture. And Wonderwall is a song that Adelaide have been singing for ages (in a league time)
