Loved Moss and Durante blowing up after the whistle at whoever it was that sent that awful back pass at the end.

Fantastic result.

It's fair to question the attendance. Wellington misses out on a game against MBV, which is consistently great to watch. And Auckland, a city of like 8 trillion, produces a crowd that Wellington may well have got given the ongoing metrics push.

Great result. Poor football cause the pitch was crap. Only player that was great was Moss.

Kosta was rubbish.

Really for Auckland????

Apparently travel around Auckland is a nightmare LOL. Only spent $squillions on State Highways and Northern Busway yet they won't leave their couches or BBQs.

Highlight for me was Dewhurst saying how poor Reira was compared to Bonevacia as if they were doing the same role in the team.

Still. Good on all the people who went, of course.

Great  result and dont care how people try and play it that was a crap attendance.Going to look even worse when put up against how many turn up in Christchurch end of January. Frankly shouldnt even consider going back unless they fix that bloody pitch.

I think given how many times we've played there we should be considering Auckland a regular home game now in terms of crowd expectations. 11k seems alright considering.

Sorry dont agree at all if thats all they bring then frankly the game should be kept in Wellington.Looking at the crowd there seemed to be a bloody heap that had traveled to it make that figure even worse.

Man, watching the Vuktree tragics sharking their pants and yelling THAT GAME NEVER HAPPENED on Twitter is lolarious. Pity about the pitch but we know it was bad luck for groundskeepers, can't blame them for it.

Very enjoyable game in the zone - chanting, banners, sex toy. Regret not wearing nicer bra, but honestly never expected to take my shirr off!!!!

Angst and whine and Auckland-bash all you like, but we deserved the points. If MVFC had played all game like they did at start of 2nd half, maybe a different result.

well that's 8 or 9k fans that we might not have if we don't play there

I think it's also a case of be careful what you wish for.

If Auckland pulled 20,000 every time then the FFA would be telling us to move the team.

I dont get why it's a big deal to have 1 measly game in Auckland a year, I have no doubts the team should stay based in Wellington but I don't know why people get bitter about one game.

Also I don't get why they wore a special strip, JUST WEAR YOUR HOME STRIP.

If they didn't the two teams would have been in the same colour strips as the pitch.

Ah, no, sorry. I beg to differ. If Auckland pulled 20K every time then we would ask FFA to give us a licence for a second NZ team, based in Auckland, instead of moving the team we already have and that is already punching above it's weight.

The crowd numbers we have for Wellington are fair for a city/region of that size and are similar to CCM or Newcastle Jets. In contrast, 20K in Auckland would be in Sydney or Melbourne category, well above Adelaide or Perth numbers, and a real proof that A-League football has good following there. And so far I am not convinced that is the case.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

I thought our defense would have a new one torn tonight. It's some achievement to keep a clean sheet against those guys. Speaking of which, I understand that Kevin Muscat chews cat anuses, not gum.

Mmm not sure what i posted in any way suggests im bitter about a game in Auckland. What i am bitter about is the constant bagging of our crowds in Wellington by the various forms of the media. Yet that mostly Auckland based media rarely focus their attention on the crowds up there in any sport. With basketball being the obvious exception.Yep i could understand if they were getting bumper crowds but thats not the case.Dosnt really matter  as its already been stated that at least 2 games will be taken away i just think maybe another centre should be allowed a crack to see if the can do better than Auckland.

Stop taking home games away! We've had hardly any chance to get any momentum with building metrics because of the fixture run, and going off to sodding Auckland tripped it up yet again.

Putting aside the cabbage patch they played on and the ridiculous choice of strip (marketing, consistency branding etc. etc.)....

Farkin epic result boys! Brilliant win!

Great game.

Atmosphere was superb, far better than any of the Eden Park matches.

Pitch was minging. Not fit for any sort of professional football.

Whose idea was it to have similar kits? Awful decision.

Roly is a special talent.

Three for me, and two for them.

Okay, a few points that I haven't seen elsewhere yet:

- we were bossing the midfield. Wonderful possession under pressure got both our goals. Except in the early second half when their #14 got busy (is that that FBK fellow?) only Kosta and their #2 looked dangerous at all. Berisha was barely there at all apart from nasty fouls and taking dives.

- I remember an old joke about how once Man U played in a grey kit, they were shark, and Fergie said it was because they couldn't see each other. Well, we appeared to be the opposite - it looked like our passing was MUCH more effective than usual tonight.

- perhaps we did better against MVFC than the Smurfs because they were actually trying to play, rather than just murder Roy and Roly. They did get their share of knocks, but I was gratified near the end to see Roy win a shoulder-to-shoulder challenge against a player sizeably bigger than him.

- Am I the only one who thought Fenton was MUCH, MUCH improved - almost back to his best? We'll ignore him knocking the ball out of Mossy's hands that one time because no harm came of it.

- My favourite chant tonight, apart from #10MoreYears of course, was "Fifty Shades of Grey".

Just never have a game in Auckland again. It can't be worth it, and apart from genuine other commitments there is no excuse for football fans to not be there. If you're desperate enough to watch NRFL on a Saturday afternoon then you're enough of a fan to shell out $20 to watch actual football. What would be your excuse _ I support another A league team?

Horrendous kit choices and pitch quality. Considering that, the game was entertaining and the team did great. I was pretty angry about the kit choice, whoever was responsible for that should be fired for an extreme lack of common sense. Just wear the home kit ffs.

The crowd was disappointing. It was a nice day in Auckland today - if it was raining or cold then i hate to think how low it would be. If they are going to play games in Auckland (and as an Aucklander I hope they do, please don't take it away!), they need to play at Eden park if they want crowds. I'm pretty sure if they are getting 11k at Albany it would of been over 15k at Eden park which would make for better 'Metrics' and no one would be complaining about the crowd. I agree there is no excuse for not getting to a one off game in Albany, I certainly wouldn't miss it, but for lots of people it seems too far to go.

Your right in a way after all it is the Wellington Phoenix and considering the population size of Auckland I don't blame ya. I'm very happy they won but on a different subject I was a tad disappointed how slow the game was when I was there though I normally watch on telly as I live out of reach to attend games. I might have to watch a replay on TV.

To the regular attendees is a-league normally played at that pace or was it the pitch or ref that was the problem. The reason I ask is because I watched a club game in Bogota, Colombia a few months back and it was played at a speed I thought was suitable for a-league considering the comparisons between a-league and English championship etc?

Awesome atmosphere btw and great to be back in NZ though I wished I lived in Welly. :)

Did Roy get an off the ball elbow to his face when he went down? At the ground I only saw a glimpse of the replay, and it looked like he did, but I couldn't quite tell.

I thought the second half particularly was a little slow... seemed to be lots of whistle/stoppages (hence the 5 mins extra time). The kits and pitch also made the game seem less fluent than usual. I still thought it was entertaining though, and it didn't feel slow when Roy was on the ball.
