Why is QBE's pitch so bad - it can't be just because of the rugby can it?

Eddie Edge's theory is they've had eggball plus cattle on it. "Well, it's a rugby and dairy country innit."

Maybe it's the FFA pushing it because their precious MV are involved?

Due to other logistics a change is probably unlikely but has been considered.

Fuck this stupid game

Er... we've had two televised ASBPrem games on it in 2 weeks, which is why we know the shark state it's in.

pretty sure I heard somewhere it was re-laid and it hadn't taken as quickly as they had hoped.

Home of football to me would be that old ground where Mount Wellington used to play their games in the 60s and 70s.

Just rung Ticketmaster again to buy some more tickets. That guy Mathew is their version of our Brenda. He's awesome to deal with.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

I'm leaving Upper Hutt about 6 or 7 am on Saturday.  Coming back after the game.  I am driving. Tom Tom updated. Noted HN's suggestion for a park.

Northern Express buses leave from Britomart every 5-15 minutes all day. Go to Albany Station +20 minute walk. See also www.at.govt.nz

Highly disappointing that NZF won't move the WeeNix vs Waitak game on Dec 3 (two days before A-League match) off QBE though.

suspect that probably has a lot to do with sky as well? One of the reasons that game is there is probably to piggy back off the nix game.

Pretty sure they ARE moving it to Penrose. NZF didn't want to pay for it though...

its interesting because is it anyone's home ground? Waitak seem to have most of their games there but the Phoenix are there and ACFC too. Who pays for it?

I guess for NZF, they would want to piggy back off the Phoenix being there and I assume it would cost less.

That is all irrelevant to the fact that they may as well play in Dubai for all the grass there is. You cannot play *quality* football on it

I reckon Hudson is behind this. He's asked the groundsman to make it deliberately shark so that all the young AWs from the ASBP playing on it get used to playing on that kind of surface before they go and play OFC Nations Cup games in PNG.

Just looked at the 'Merchant' venue on line (as it was touted as the closest watering hole nearest to QBE stadium).  For a shopping centre pub/restaurant it looks a cut above what you would normally expect. Looking forward to it - and the game - especially if Mattieu Delpierre has pulled a hamstring (subbed last night).

Apologies for asking something that's probably already been answered, but without going back through the thread what's the best parking option? Haven't been to a game there before, but going to be staying on the North Shore with access to a car.
