A further bit of balance needs to be recognised too [and this is not in direct reference tot he video] but different people have different perceptions of what is safe or appropriate for their children. I'm no wowzer but I wouldn't consider taking my son into YF for example simply based on my observations of some of the drunken behaviour and swearing I have witnessed. I base that view on what I want my son to be exposed to, whereas I have no problem being in the zone or having the zone in its current form. Other people might not have any actual experience of active crowds and it scares them, especially if they are basing part of their fear on media reports from overseas of crowd behaviour, riots, and the like. Perception is not always reality but the guardians of the game need to take steps to change those perceptions and while the FFA haven't managed to do that in a successful manner, they do need to do something.
That's fair. I wouldn't take my son into the fever zone until he was quite a bit older, mainly because of beer spillage, thrown shark and the packed seats. That can be way too much for the wee ones.
But that's not a bad thing. I have experienced the zone, I love the zone, but its not really a place for little kids (IMO). If you get a lot of drunk supporters, singing and chanting, its always going to not appeal to some people. The zone is fantastic, and very well policed, but even then an area open to the public, and any bad apple can walk in and start some bad behavior.
So the video doesn't represent every supporter of the wanderers, but Rebecca and that other dudes opinions don't represent very many football fans. And that's kind of the point. The video isn't saying everyone's perfectly behaved, its just saying they aren't what was being said.
