The Felipe goal? Looked just on to me. Maybe 50/50, but I haven't
seen enough replays.
1st red card. Spot on, Coveny through one on one with the keeper if he hadn't been chopped. Going wide or not, it looked like an Obvious Goalscoring Opportunity to me. Once he gave the penalty, the red card was a formality.
Harnwell tackle. I reckon he got it right again. I won't go into 'Careless, Reckless, Excessive Force' referee speak, but I think the "tackle" just about covered all 3. From behind, in the air and nowhere near the ball. Deserved to go. The only one who didn't seem to be complaining that much about the decision was Harnwell himself.
As for linesmen making late calls. The changes to the interpretation of the Offside law mean that, in a lot of cases, the Lino has to wait before flagging, even if it looks like an obvious decision.
I thought all 3 officials had a good game.
100% in agreement, is the ref available for this week ?

Name and Fame We are always quick to
hand out abuse to the bad refs, but we have just gone two pages
praising a ref without mentioning his name. He was SREBRE DELOVSKI, a 32 year old Assistant
Accountant. Well done Sreb. Come again soon.
His name is Streb Delovski not Srebre

Hoiw does Strebre Delovski
sound for a comprimise.
That is how they spell it on the Hyundai A League
Website, referees section.
Everyone calls him Bob anyway. Come back soon, Bob
Anyway.

For the record on the world game on SBS on Sunday none of the
commentators had any complaints about the two reds and were
extremely critical of the Harnwell tackle, making a special point
of highlighting it along with the Zadkovich one as exampels of what
we don't want to see in the game.

One week in Aus and you're already using Craig Foster for reliable comment... run now, while you still can.

I thought the ref got it spot on each time. Thank f**k for that.
About time an A-League ref didn't get through a game like he's got
it in for us. And I don't know that anyone could plead bias toward
the Phoenix. It was just good refereeing, without the left field
calls that leave you wondering why.
As for the tackle by Harnwell, there's an awful lot of that
type of tackle going on in the A-League. Why do so many players do
it? Professional players know how to tackle surely.
I noticed the commentators played down the Craig
Moore tackle that got him booked against Andrew Clark of CCM
in the weekend. But that was exactly the sort of tackle that breaks
legs so easily. Again, what was he thinking going in like
that? It's in the middle of the park, and simply not
necessary.

Ref must have got it somewhat right over Harnwell's tackle - he's
been given an additional one week ban for it. That should put an
end to the 'harsh' call surely? :P

I was also impressed with the referee, excellent performance first
up, what i liked most was when a player dived or fell to the ground
after minor contact he didn't even bother to tell them to get up or
carry on he just ingored them which is what all the refs should do.
Both reds were correct decisions

personally i thought the ref was average, he made good decisions
and bad decisions but you cant expect the ref to always go for your
team. footy watcher is right that the red cards were correct
decisions. i only wish that the ref could have referreed the New
Zealand Vs France in the world cup!

this forum! the media already does it so far to death it makes me
embarrased to be a kiwi sometimes.
