Thats the problem with sport in this country. People only want to support a team if its winning. You cant have winners unless you have losers.

Supporting your team through thick and thin by going to watch them play is what being a supporter is all about. You dont have to agree with every signing they make or always like the way they are playing or be happy with sh*ty results, thats why this forum exists, to express your displeasure.

FFS ask yourself this question, do we want to have a professional team based in this city (country) or not? If you do support the team or we wont have it anymore.

Has anyone else got tickets  as a group?

Grabbed 6 tickets today (5 adult & 1 student) & got charged $42.50 for the booking fee.

How do u get charged 5 booking fees on 1 booking?

They are ringing me back about it 2moro but was just wondering if anyone else had encountered the same problem?

Both points are true, to be fair.

If the team are not playing well, the fans are not going to come out.

However, the point that people here in NZ (and I really have noticed it moreso than back home) are completely apathetic to teams who are not constantly winning for the most part is also true. The sad fact is that the Phoenix are only 2 years in so the 'core' support is not there like for teams in the UK who have been around for over 100 years. In these cases you tend to support who your dad supports or whatever and stick to it. Unfortunately we're a long way off that kind of situation due to how young the club is.

I would say though, if you are a football fan, and you live in Wellington, you really have little excuse for not getting along and supporting the team. 'Not winning' doesn't count because you can never tell what will happen at any given game as we saw last season vs the likes of Sydney and Melbourne who were expected to beat us in the eyes of most.

To sum up, don't be a glory hunter, especially at this early stage in the history of the club!

Renewed mine and 3 friends today. tried to get a new member and another renewing member to sit with us in a different aisle but they couldn't do that over the phone

I renewed tonight. My gf isn't renewing, she doesn't enjoy going to the games (cold weather & bad back).

The Phoenix memberships have a 3-payment option now, instead of the 2-payment option previously. The Ticketek site doesn't make it very clear - but confirmed from emails to Phoenix staff (Thanks Tamara!)

And there are a number of excuses for people not to get memberships. I've got a mortgage and a lot of travel to pay for, but I'm still getting a membership.

The Phoenix needs members, otherwise they'll shut up shop.

Renewed our 4 but they wouldn't hold a nearby seat for a new 5th season pass. So that person probably won't get a season pass now.

Got mine renewed. Moved from Silver to YF along with a mate. Trying to persuade others too as well. Most common response when quizzed about a membership: "Na, the Phoenix are sh*t."

When do the new Season Pass packs come out? My car sticker (from the first season) has just come off leaving a clean patch which makes the rest of the car look very dirty. I really need another one to cover it up.

I'm slightly disappointed!

Has anyone received there tickets yet?  Or know when they are due to be sent out?  My son's birthday end of June and as this is his first season ticket, I was hoping it would be here by then.

yeah, expect delays...I've received the confirmation email to say I've ordered mine, no charge on c/c yet though. Spoke to Ticketek the other day and they advised to expect a delays between ordering and charging...

From Nix website;

When will I receive my membership card?

For renewing members who sign up during the special offer dates of 18-29 May, you will receive your card prior to 31 July 2009.

For new members who sign up prior to 10 July will also receive their card prior to 31 July 2009.

Members who sign up after 10 July will receive their cards early August 2009.

Are you going to wash the rest of my car to match the clean bit where the sticker came off? Or perhaps swap the tailgate of yours, which probably has a sticker, for mine as they are roughly the same?

I'm slightly disappointed!

Over the phone they said it will be a couple of weeks, I questioned it and they said they are trying to get them out early. Last season they had problems doing the packs but this season no pack, you will get vouchers to take into the store. Still haven't seen them though.

Also got the shaft when trying to renew on the phone on the first Monday they were available. "Sorry we can't do that" I complained to the Phoenix and they rang me and got it all sorted. New seats, went from single to Family.

Tip from my dodgy parenting book: Depends on age of child. Photoshop a piece of paper with Phoenix logo and a bit of a blurb about season pass. Say your ticket will arrive before the first game. Put it in an envelope. Present!!

they sent vouchers out last year to go collect your pack, it was only the 1st year you got it all in the mail.

re the pressie did that last year for my dad for his 70th printed out the logo and made up a pretend season ticket in the season befores lanyard and gave him it for his birthday (which is today happy birthday dad 71 eh) and will be doing it again this year as bought him another season ticket again....

I'll be a bit worried if we have a voucher to take in to the Phoenix Shop.... considering there isn't one at all!

I walked passed the place last week, lots of boxes of Phoenix gear sitting on the floor... not many signs of a shop being setup though.

Saw people in Manners Street today in bodypaint done up in Phoenix colours.

I don't know what they were promoting, I assume part of the ZM promotion?

Either way, poor buggers would have been freezing

Got a phone call a few days ago from the woman running the promotion, asking me to do this (I did it last year as part of the 24/7 competition). Had to decline since I'm in Queenstown.

Lucky for them, they do get paid

So, are we expecting the store to be open next Monday, or a different day in the week?

Just so I can plan to wander passed on my way to work etc :)
