My two cents worth.

Pavlovic offers zero.
Hearfield struggles with goal side, gets hammered against good players so will make us look more than naff in the playoffs if we even get there.

I can't even moan about Pavlovic. If one of his speculators had been deflected in he'd be a hero. At least he had enough pace to threaten to get in behind them.**

Eh, we played well - tactically we were set up correct - everyone defended like demons for 85 mins but unfortunately we wilted in the head. Credit to the team that we kept it up that long against by far the best team in the league.

Now we look towards Newcastle knowing that if we get into the top 6 we can compete with the likes of Brisbane - even away from home.

Pavlova looks like he'd be more suited to rugby - he's great at muscling his way in but he has no footballing brain whatsoever. Twice he could've been clear through on goal if he used his head to knock it down instead of flailing his arms about like one of those inflatable tube things you see outside car dealerships.valeo2011-01-26 23:07:17

Perhaps, but we will then have to go out to win, not defend.

If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid

I think if we play like that against Adelaide (our next away game?) we could definitely win. We had loads of shots on goal, and we'll have our usual starting line-up (because we don't need much to beat the Fury), and yeah. Good away game, maybe even our best.

Apart from the two goals.. *cough, cough*.

Yes they had a tonne of possession but they had f**k all chances on target, especially in the first half. We had more, and great chances too (Big Mac shot/Greenie header). Their 1st goal - which changed the game - was sheer luck and nothing else.
Let me whinge and moan for you.

Hard done by my arse.  Same old, same old and we were found wanting when it mattered away from home as always.  Our away form simply doesn't justify a place in the play offs.  What's the point?  We'll be away from home anyway and it'll be over before it begins.

How can one team be so continuosly excellent at home and so consistently mediocre away?  Totally baffling and frustrating.
Shut.Your.Mouth.I won't hear that talk.Hard luck to be undone by a timely substitution but we played well overall against a formidable opponent.Gutted but w/e.Next hamezilla2011-01-26 23:31:09

f**k that was sh*t. So gutterd, so close for a draw or even a win.. just disappeared after that goal. Didn't expect much from the game, just wish we didn't go oblivious after the first goal, so coulda got one back if they kept up their pace and attack they had before that goal.

We will never fully decide who has won the football.

W Phoenix played well, really well for 89 min except the time when thsoe 2 freeking goals went in! Guys, the match is not over until the final whstle is blown. No good scrapping for positives when in fact we didn't scoreand in fact, we lost to Roar. Was it just bad luck?

I thought Pav's chances through on the ball where he was called back could have been advantage our way for a high boot, but ref didn't see it that way.

It was disappointing that we lost it with deflections and so late in the game. The boys were absolutely knackered and pretty down, they clapped to the group of us supporters there then headed into the sheds.

Allegedly

It just boils down to away form. If we were half as good away as we are at home a top 2 finish would be a realistic target. Until then we're going to be struggling to make the top 6 every season.

That wasnt away form. That was a great brisbane roar side. That is all

There was one thing that was a clear problem throughout that game. We need to sack Daniel.... Great opportunity from a corner and he kicks it out! come on! The guy has lost his mojo, time for a new (fast/young) midfielder.

That was a rather ordinary Brisbane side in my opinion, theyve played far better football in recent weeks. Either way though thats still irrelevant as we cant even beat the Fury away and theyre pants, so id say thats away form in general.

Dude it was a corner. What about the freekick D'mac fluffed in the 1st? Or Wards 40 yard free kick/cross that evaded everyone and went straight out over the goal line in the 2nd? Did you even watch anyone else or are you just hating?

The frustrating thing for me throughout the whole game was our lack of clear cut chances. When our strikers made a break they were inevitably on their own so ended up passing it back to midfield which just allowed the Roar defence to regroup and we just could not sustain a decent attack in the top third - it's been a problem for most o fthe season.
Defended well.
Thought with 10 minutes to go we should have had all hands to the pump and dropped backa striker into the defence to try an dhold out for a draw.
Hopefully can play better against Newcastle

Yeah the lack of support for our strikers when they break can be frustrating. Pav had a couple of decent runs with no support. As did DMac in the first, who did well with this first attempt to shake away the two Roar defenders and cut back inside but his shot needed a top corner placement, Theoklitos had it covered easy

Disappointed, thought we at least deserved a draw. It was like the Blackpool v Man.U game, had no expectations coming in, but when it feels like there's a chance and it's blown, opportunity lost

I would like to see us play it on the deck more.

Roar did it well last night, broke us down with short sharp passes.

The long balls are just asking to be picked off by decent sides.

I couldnt agree more... too slow... cant tackle... set pieces are poor and why does he find it necessary to attempt a number of backheels that invariably end up in oppositions posession.

At the moment My thoughts about Daniel(not good) are probably about the same as the way bertos has been playing(when fit)

The Roar have the personnel to allow them to play that sort of game. We don't.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Hmmmm see im a bertos fan aye. When he is on fire, he is god. But when he aint.... Can't say anything too rude about him now I know him haha! Nah, he is a great player. Looking forward to him getting fit. Sounds like he has been in a rough patch from what he has told me.

Imagine him, rojas, ifill and (hopefully) smeltz (as much as I think he is a dick) next year?!?!?!

First post in a while, I don't think we can afford Smeltz to be honest.
