In other leagues they have got around it, not by charging a player for the tackle, but by charging them with bringing the game into disrepute. Not saying that this will happen though!!

Time to pressure the FFA into a rule change IMO, shocking tackle. He is a c**t.

are we not getting carried away????  It seems like it was a bad challenge (I haven't seen it yet) but these happen all the time in football - sometimes the ref gets it right, and sometimes he gets it wrong.  That is football.

I cannot remember there being calls for rule changes and extra long bannings when Ross Aloisi was sent off in season 1 for a straight red, but he was given the benefit of the doubt and it was just a "mistimed tackle" as he was playing for the phoenix.

Note:  I am fully aware that it was Ross' last game, so a banning would have been pointless anyway.

Kruse is a c**t, and he did a bad tackle on the Phoenix player - let's just deal with it (like I am sure that Bertos has) instead of whinging about it like big girls blouses.

Would people still be saying its disgraceful if he was with the Nix?

I think so - Most on here jumped all over Hearfield last season when he got sent off against Sydney. He was condemned for the headbutt that got him sent off, as well as an earlier elbow to a face.

However, if it was one of our YF "untouchables" like Leo, Costa, or Sigmund, it might be different.

From the Phoenix website regarding Kruse's foul..

Roar bad boy Robbie Kruse was fortunate not to join Oar and his coach for an early shower following an horrifically amateurish and nasty challenge on Phoenix striker Leo Bertos in injury time.

Gotta love the wording.

I know what you are saying, but it wasn't an "all the time in football" tackle. It was truly malicious and appeared to have no purpose other than to deliberately injure the player. And it was Kruse (which is usually reason enough).

Hence the level of reaction. If Bertos is out for a period, there will be a lot of questions asked.

I know, I know, its serious!

Added to all of that Bertos was literally standing in the very corner of the field.  It wasn't as if it was a last-ditch tackle in a desparate attempt to stop an otherwise almost certain goal.

Barbarism.

it wasn't a bad tackle and it wasn't a mistimed tackle
at best it was late, unnecessary, reckless and dangerous, at worst it was deliberate and violent

The fact is that if Bertos is injured, it could potentially of f**ked up our season.

Here we go then.
Taken from the Nix website.

"Kruse almost offered up the winning opportunity in injury time, the youngster making a clumsy two-footed challenge on Bertos in the Roar corner. Television replays clearly showed the stupidity and dangerousness of the challange, but the Phoenix were unable to convert from the resulting free kick. Thankfully, Bertos was not badly injured in the incident and Kruse was hugely fortunate to remain on the park."

I think that was well written

Regardless of what the challenge looked like (and I am yet to see it) the fact that it was Robbie Kruse leads me to believe the little c**t deserves for karma to pay him a visit!!!

for this amount of vitriol

any takers for Kruse and past sins? aside from hairband I can't think of what he's done...?

and that "tackle" is no way worse than any number of Roy Keane specials.

If that tackle came in the box or the middle of the pitch or somewhere dangerous, I could at least understand the logic in  making it to stop a goal or an attack even though I still wouldn't have liked it.

That tackle was committed with Bertos facing the corner flag 2 feet from it. We crucify our players for dumb sh*t like that. That was completely brainless and served no other purpose than to mame and injure.

Thats why he is a c**t

I thjink it is because he tore us apart a couple of seasons ago.  By the end of the season we will hate every opposition player in the A League except Robbie Fowler

No, it's because even then he dived, he whined at referees, and deliberately left a foot in in challenges.  He's just an obectionable little oik and has been ever since he first appeared.

Apart from his first three of four games he hasn't torn anyone apart as people have figured out that he's all media-hype, ego and f**k all else and now he has to resort to the sort of attack that even a League player would get a couple of months off for.

90% of tackles on a football field put fellow professionals at risk.  There are as many players getting injured like Fabregas did last season in a block tackle with Alonso than there are from tackles like those on Eduardo - probably more.

A player went off the field at Preston yesterday with what looks like a broken leg after he fouled another player in a pretty harmless looking way.  It was quite funny though when the ref held up the yellow card over him when he was being stretchered off with an oxygen tank.

OK, he outplayed us once
and dives

so Ronaldo  is a sh*t too.

I'll watch him more closely although there seems to be a dearth of A League games on Sky this year.
I have no problem with after match review panels. If it's truly a Barry Crocker (and objectively I think it is) then sanction should take place
if they are cracking down on diving why not violent conduct.

Difference being that Roy Keane is a complete legend and a world class player who time and again put players like Viera in their place - Kruse isn't just a wanna be he's a never will be and is so far up his own arse I'm surprised he needs the stupid hair band

It was a shocking tackle and watching the replay I would suggest deliberate and calculated. Just made our last sub and hacking the best player on the field at the time. Take into account the tension on the pitch and you have intent. The result of bertos not playing on is bad enough. Ref probably didnt give red as he had just given one and sent off their coach. Probably wanted to get out of the stadium alive.

f**k off, it should say :

Kruse made a retarded amputee kiddie challenge on one of the best players for the phoenix but the referee was to busy shoving his fingers up Tiatto's ass to notice sh*t all.

Kruse is a stupid c**t, who looks like a f**kin idiot because he wears a piece of f**kin string on his head.

I said earlier that I hadn't seen this tackle, but if someone can get it on youtube or bebo or twitter or whatever you kids use, then I am keen to have a look.

The thing that annoys is that the phrase "that was a real leg breaker" gets used a lot in football, when they have not broken any legs or even injured the opposition player at all.  I have seen more broken legs (Cisse for Marseille, Larsen for Celtic) and long term injuries (Owen at WC) from accidents than I have from bad tackles.

There are a number of players here who can testify that I have put in some pretty bad challenges over the years, and yet I can honestly say I cannot ever remember trying to properly hurt anyone (although my memory is not so good).  I think all this talk that he set out to properly hurt Bertos and finish his season, and he targeted him becuase he is our best player and he knew we had used our 3 subs comes from people who have never really played the game.

Fair enough.

The Roar did appear to target him though, I think.  He got hit more than any of the other players.  They did the same against Felipe in season one, kicking him off the park.  I think that tackle was the type that was definitely a red card and could easily have resulted in long-term injury.  Bertos was quite lucky, not to mention Kruse.
