Sorry if I'm not meant to start this thread but I am already fired up. Last game of regular season would be awesome to break 10k. Our football club in palmy is putting on a bus and I'm pumping it everywhere I can. COYN bring it home baby

Sydney are playing pretty well at the moment.  It could go either way.  Hopefully we show up with massive balls to win this one.

We need to step up and make up for the 3-0 loss earlier.

boxall has to start. We need every bit of strength and aerial power we can muster.

If we can get the win against Sydney, very likely that the home semi-final would be against ... Sydney, which would mean 3 home games v Sydney in the space of 5 weeks.  Strange how it could all pan out.

I know, I know, its serious!

And Brisbane could end up playing Melbourne Victory 3 times in the space of just over 3 weeks.

Kind of funny as the new finals format was designed to stop 1 v 2 playing each other 3 times in 4 weeks (as would happen in the old format). Yet this year could end up worse.

are we expecting more Sydney fans to make the trip over for next weekend, given the last result here and the game is for 2nd place? Would the Bling have been the biggest group of away fans that vist the ring of Fire?

Last minute flights would be rather expensive but I think a number were planning to come over already.

Indeed.  Also very possible* that Adelaide v Melb City will happen 2 weeks in a row (R27, followed by elimination playoff).

*depends on Nix win or draw so inappropriate to make assumptions by using terms such as "likely" or "chances are".

Nervous excite already and it's only Monday. If we win on Sunday we have TWO WEEKS of build up.

A lot of people at work talking to me about the Nix today. I think the fact we won so dramatically on Friday night might have captured a bit of their imaginations, along with the impending finals as well. Hopefully it translates into a bumper croud come Sunday!

Sorry to put the king jinx on this one but I'm coming up for this match.

Only ever seen one win at the cake tin, season 2010/11 4-1 vs. Perth, Vinnie scored, Vuka hit the crossbar.

Every other match has been draws or drubbings including vs. Victory a few weeks ago.

Must be time to break the drought! Seems to be the season for it!

Last time I came down was 0-5 v Melb City!

Maybe we should both stay away. I think I'm about 1 from 10 in terms of wins to draws/losses at westpac.

Nah. I came down for v Newcastle and v Perf in 2010 play-offs too.

If we finish 2nd, we have a rest the weekend after - which is fantastic as Im out of town. If we finish 3rd/4th, I miss the first finals match :(

I hold the jinx factor and worked out on Friday what it was.  I have been to most home games this season.  When we lost to Perth on opening day I took the car from Upper Hutt where I live as I was going on to a dinner party afterwards.  I normally take the train.  We lost.

For the two games at the Hutt Rec I could get to, I took the car as a mate lives 10 minute walk away and I could park in his drive.  We did not win either.

I took the car to both Sydney and Melbourne games recently and we lost both.

I took the train to work last Friday as ususal and stayed on after work to take in the game, then train home.  We won again.

I promise to take the train on Sunday

Not necessarily. If we finish 3rd, win our home finals match and then win our away match vs. 2nd place AND

Whoever wins the 4th vs. 5th playoff then beats the 1st place team in the next match, we would host the Grand Final as the highest ranked qualifier.

Good point.  Had not thought of that.  Slightly long odds on it all coming together I would have thought though.  But sillier things have happened
