Prices same for current members, new members price to be advised? was this mentioned earlier.

Same old Phoenix - Always dodgy.

There goes my record of seeing every competition game in New Zealand live. Bit of a hassle trucking the family around. Why the hell would I want to go to Christchurch, it is hard enough traveling from Kapiti.

What if I want to upgrade my season pass from one adult to a family? Don't answer, because of this two game reduction on what should have been an expansion I won't bother.

Tony P - the comment about maybe getting our tickets before the start of the season is what I expect from you. No respect or idea. One minute we are an Aussie club (when asked about Phoenix getting kicked out of the A-League) next we are a Wellington club, to keep local fans happy.

Hard News - comparing this to Sydney FC? Last time I checked P'Matta and SCG were in Sydney, c-mon how much are the Nix paying you?

Can I save $10 a week? No but I will accept your donations if it is that easy.

Don't shoot the messenger, I just pointed out Sydney were moving some games (and it is suspected Central Coast will as well) no comment on my opinion of the fact.

I'm going to run on the theory that all this is just angst and people will settle down in coming days.

Hardly anyone on here's fault that the game's being moved to CHCH and some people can't afford the trip for their whole family

FFS. You were coming across okay before, even if one didn't agree, with the it's a done deal so we have to deal with it point. But this whole "it's your fault" attitude is a bit poncey.

Regardless of whether you can find the money, spending nearly a grand getting the whole famiily down for one game is a bit much.

That would all be very good, if I hadn't got them all addicted to football (and behaving like your point b) in the first place! Seemed like a good idea at the time...

It was a fantastic idea at the time, still is now and will be in the future.

If you can't find a way to get there, suppose they will find out they can't have everything

Back home Hibs have rolled the season ticket prices for 09/10 season back to the same level as the 07/08 season, and our Edinburgh enemies Hearts have reduced their prices even further. I don't think Rangers or Celtic have any plans to increase prices either.

Teams in the Premiership are also freezing and reducing as far as I am aware. Pretty sure the likes of Bolton and Middlesbrough froze their prices for THIS season.

So, while as a rule prices might go up, there are circumstances where they should not - a circumstance where crowds were down last season on the previous season, AND being in the middle of a recession surely counts as just those circumstances?

As I said before, bumping up prices for new members does not encourage new people to sign up.

Just realised the PN game is a potential problem for me and some of the guys too - being on a Saturday in the middle of Summer League. I'm one of the organisers, so should be there but I expect the rest of the lads will bail on their fixtures! The fixture/time setting guys do organise slight changes to KO times for home Nix games. I've never been able to convince them to allow for TW home games, but I wonder if I can get them to accommodate a Nix match on neutral ground and move fixtures forward three hours... I'll start positioning it now!

Steve-o, you're talking about two hugely different economies in two hugely different situations. You can't compare what is going on in the UK (I'm over here, it's bad and getting a heck of a lot worse) to New Zealand where things aren't great but life goes on. You have to look at the competition for the entertainment dollar in the Phoenix market, perhaps other sports teams or the like, apples with apples.

Don't think there is that much difference to be honest, jobs are starting to go here as well and out of everyone back home I still don't know a single person who has actually been affected by the recession. I'm not saying it's not happening, but like I say, I dunno anyone who has lost their job or anything else.

When pay rises etc are being frozen over, then I see no reason why I should expect a price rise for the Phoenix games.

But I could point to a club in America and say see, they're raising prices so it's ok for the Phoenix to do it. But that woudn't make any sense. It's completely irrelevant what's going on in other countries and markets.

Whether NZ is better or worse off isn't really the issue (although have a read of the UK busget delivered yesterday, it's VERY grim). What premiership clubs are doing is completely irrelevant to decisions made by an A-League club. I'm not saying that price rises would be justified, but your examples are meaningless.

Just wondering if any of you last-season pass holders have been notified of the new season pass prices and/or have renewed yours yet.

I've been told that details for those of us newbies wanting a season pass will be out end of next week.... but I was told the same thing a couple of weeks ago...

Thanks - good to know that things are happening. Hoping to get a family pass but will depend on how much of an increase it is over last season's prices (from the earlier thread it looks like new season passes will be at increased rates).

If you have a student ticket form last year but, this year you are classified an adult can you renew your student ticket price from last year or have to pay more??

No, but you can buy an adult ticket at last years adult ticket price. I suggest you go back to school if you had trouble reading and understanding that in their offer to members.
