Win and they will come
NZ are one of those populations where they only turn up or give a shit if the team is winning. Warriors crowd, Vector Arena crowds for the Breakers, 2002 Tall Blacks.
Get the results and the rest will follow. That's pretty much a given.
This isn't specifically about the crowd size, more the atmosphere

That's awesome. What the fuck did you search to get that in the results?
There probably is a strong correlation between getting boozed and a good atmosphere. Do we need more night games?

I see the Hurricane's are hoping on the bandwagon, http://www.stuff.co.nz/dominion-post/news/8631433/Hurricanes-losing-love-for-the-stadium
The new Stadium boss has some work to do.

Cheers guys.
Yep up to The Garden for a new challenge. Gonna miss the Nix season but on the bright side I got given a signed stripey for a leaving gift.
Fuck this stupid game
Well done sir, enjoy the new job
Must say I'm rather gutted, you've been a great inside info source - I hope logging into YF was included in the job description for any prospective replacement...
Yeah gonna miss being involved with Nix/Westpac stuff but hopefully I can still contribute in some way on here.
Fuck this stupid game
Will miss your insider's info and updates on the goings-on at the RoF TopLeft07.It's been invaluable over the last few seasons
All the best up north. Hope you come down for the odd pitch inspection occasionally when the Nix are at the RoF ;-)
Improving,,on the up, a work in progress from Italiano and the Nix. Bring on the bathroom bling in '24! COYN!

Sorry, now you have no inside-info you are barred from posting on this forum. :(
Seriously, always did a great job on the pitch. Good luck up in Aucks.

Yet again. Ridiculous given some of the pitches we've seen at certain grounds this season.
Allegedly
How on earth are we a whole point behind Heart? Need more flares and king-hit punches I think.

Didn't we talk about this issue like what, a year ago? We're stuck with Westpac Stadium, and constant views during broadcasts of empty swathes of seats. Obviously we can't get a smaller ground developed for the Nix, even if Newton Park was discussed.
Gold Coast used to have the same problem, till Clive Palmer started shutting down half of the ground.
Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days
Rubbish pitch. Totally gone down hill since last season.

Ha ! So the Nix won't know themselves on that top notch pitch you've got sorted for them next month, right TopLeft07? ;-)

who do they ask for these ratings? the players? coaches? fans? I honestly cannot see how the ground at the stadium consistantly rats lower than any of the others - our deck is never overly dry, rarely flooded.....atmosphere I can kind of understand.
Queenslander 3x a year.

RG they will almost be playing on a cricket field up here minus the drop in wicket which won't be the end of the world but we don't really get the chance to try produce a 'perfect' football pitch for our once-a-year game. But that's stadium scheduling for you. At least it's not a concert two days before

Suncorp has been declining in quality since the floods.
By nature the australian pitches are quicker - couch and rye grass combo + firmer. The 'sticky' comments made recently are probably reference to the dense rye grass cover at westpac (good for rugby). Its funny that they are watering it now though - in the past he told the nix it was impossible but fifa flexed their muscles for the mexico game and now the nix are benefitting from that.

TopLeft07, can you please explain why the pitch sprinklers are put on about half an hour before kickoff. What is the purpose of that?
Captain of the away team gets to vote AFAIK. This always plays into the hands of the cities with a derby and/or multiple teams.
Am I HardNews in disguise?
G4L it's to speed up the surface. It actually has quite a significant effect on the pace of the game. The same process is done all over the world. Westpac has a slower surface than the australian pitches when its dry
Fuck this stupid game
I reckon it's to maximise the effects of the wind as well, to fool oppo keepers and defenders .... swirl, skid, goal
Oi Oi Edgecumbe... lets have a clean sheet
