Can I pick up on a comment made under another thread, and that's
about people coming to Phoenix games wearing Arsenal, Liverpool and
(ahem) QPR shirts etc?
We are a big enough club now that people should be wearing
Phoenix colours. I have no desire to wear my Chelsea shirt to
a Phoenix game and all the Arseanl fans starting anti Spurs chants
etc. is something we can do without. It's just another form
of cultural cringe.
Let's start a campaign to rid us of other clubs shirts at
Phoenix games. We should all be secure enough now in the
knowledge that we don't have to be embarrassed about supporting a
NZ team - so let's just do it. Phoenix colours or
nothing.
I agree with you, but then again, not everybody has got a
Phoenix t-shirt. I have a scarf and a retro ricky t-shirt. and I'm
not very fond of the replica shirts.
I think wearing yellow would be great, but I don't have
anything against people wearing a general footy shirt (except for
Arsenal, Man U and Chelsea...haven't seen a Man City shirt yet,
sadly enough.
Giu
I got my hat & scarf at the Official club shop and
couldn't use my Fever card - (Only able to use them on jersy's) and
paid full price, so after that I went else where for my nephew and
got the same items alot cheaper.
Perhaps if the mark-ups were not as high, more of us
would frequent the official store. Having said this, I completely
sympathise with Ian's comments, especially those regarding
Reebok.
All three well known stores selling Phoenix gear should not
fear, fan numbers increasing, they will all do a tidy
earner!!
BIG disappointments regarding numbering and names on the back
of the shirts. Reebok/ A-League must be stuck in the early
70's regarding this policy. Other countries allow it and fans like
to have that "personalised" top. It keeps us individual yet we all
look smart wearing them.
