I wouldn't let anyone who can't use an apostrophe properly get behind me!
Maybe they wouldn't want you in front of them??
Anyway, today I was asked if I'd like to forward my earlier "dry" comment to Sky Sports, so I did, I added a bit about Deaker and here's what I sent just now. I dont expect a reply for some reason.
Why does SKy Sports Co-ordinator make me feel like this??
We here at Sky are quite proud of keeping our heads buried in the sand. After all we know every New Zealander would literally kill to get home and watch a game of Rugby from the distant past. We pride ourselves in managing to get repeats of Rugby on as many of our sports channels as we can, not just the 24 hour totally dedicated "Rugby Channel" Also we like to annoy the hell out of viewers with endless repeats of Deaker Live as a bonus.
Those few soccer poofters that keep making lots of noise and moaning about our coverage or lack of, really need to get out and get a life. Rugby is, was, and always will be, the surpreme sport of this country.
And what is wrong with Kayaking? I'll have you know that there are 100 dedicated fans of this sport in New Zealand. Just how many soccer fans do you really think there are??
If you dont like our programming might I suggest that you watch Freeview or even Saturn!! No cancel Saturn, we supply the sports for them too. Go get a Foxtel dish and invite your measly 200,000 + fans around for a barbi and viewing.
I didn't send this bit to Sky but this part of that news article by Peter Parusinni says it all....
With the recession the international television market is weak and rugby, despite all the hoopla, is still a fringe sport. To put things in perspective, in the large television rugby market of Britain, Europe's Heineken Cup final in May had 460,000 viewers. In contrast, soccer's Champions League final attracted almost 11.4 million.
