Chris Killen or Bambang Pamungkas would do nicely.

who is the marquee player this season?

as for a replacement for Smeltz, I hope we don't fill the spot with a 1 season signing, lets go with someone who is recognised as having talent and will be with the club for at least a few years!

Queenslander 3x a year.

considering we gambled on smeltz who was struggling in the lower leagues of the uk, y don't we take another gamble and get a player like brent fisher or kris bright, who are also in lower leagues in europe

You all have short memories!!! Where did Mulligan come from.

I think we were just lucky getting Smeltz

Kris Bright and Brent Fisher are two of the worst ever suggestion for replacements for smeltz made on here, such a different class. Both play in semi-pro leagues, are you kidding?

Normo's coming home

Ah, the old "we have a marquee player now" seed again. That'll keep them guessing for a while.........Nice HN.

Glad we have him too

It's great isn't it, all these confused people? When I first heard we had a 'secret' marquee I knew who it was at once.

Monday morning news..
Nothing is obvious.

Hehe... I think the marquee who our marquee is is pretty obvious, but with Smeltzy going, hopefully we could move him under the normal salary cap (as if he hasn't been made public, he will only be marquee to beat the salary cap). Then we can spend up large on a marquee striker to play along side Drapes next season

Does it matter? In reality the only reason he's marquee is so we could sign him when the cap had been reached. It's probably better the team goes on as it is without undue pressure because of the marquee status which means stuff allRoyal2008-11-10 09:42:57

It was more to just have him outside of the cap because we could, rather than because we had reached the cap I believe.

That sounds right. Do you think we reached the cap?

Would be good if Killen came but he is a greedy parasite. So, if we have a spare $18k per week, then he might come?

Wow HN, kind of Ironic after todays 12-1 score line huh? Could have been 20-1 if I wasn't so rubbish!

And my proteges are almost as good as me, not bad at a mental age of 2.
