Can't wait for the season to start.  Gao will be a highlight for me.  His pace and skill are both fantastic!  Daniel organising, Gao + Bertos with speed, Smeltz finishing, oh yes!
COYN!  Beijing, China.

Looks like Kwasnik was wearing the captain's armband? Or is that yellow band a tribute to the fever?

Can't be. Durante got sent at the end, and the clip is before that.

So now we have a leadership quintet? Just in case the other 4 aren't in the starting line-up..

But Durante was on the field at the time of that shot.

Yeah I know.. maybe they just wanted to try Kwas as captain to see how he goes? Not likely but can't think of any other reason, apart from that band isn't actually a captain's armband. Which begs the question  - what is it for?

It could be the sponsor thing, but it looked awfully like an armband.

A superstition of his maybe?

Don't think it's a superstition, unless it's a recent one, cos I don't see him wearing one in this montage..

Cheers Gourdie.

Good to hear the Wollongong crowd getting behind it a bit (all things considered), and a great crowd for pre-season bodes well for South Coast Football's case for an A-League team.

it would seem possible that TV3 have relaxed in the face of lack of real competition from tv1,

or - hopefully they are saving the footage for a bit of a splurge - with interviews etc to preview the game tomorrow night!!!

Let's hope Gourdie and his colleagues can meet our expectations (as they usually do!!)

and yep if TV1 have the nouse to do  apreview I'll be impressed with them too

It was Durante who got fouled in the box for the penalty not Kwasnik

Ah that makes more sense. The media reported it as Kwasnik and it's hard to make out the faces. Cheers Tony.

Remember guys, the news is NEW. By the time we managed to get hold of that footage, and when the news went to air last night, the game was nearly 48 hours old ... you can't put that on the NEWS.

It did make it onto Sports Tonight, and I will have a preview tonight which will include vision of the game.

Gourdie,

Was the Curling article NEWs? Even though no pictures, a mention on Sunday would have been relevant.

Cheers

As mentioned above, surely you could have made metion of the result ion the Sunday News, then put pictures on Monday, a win from the All Blacks gets put on as the first item, in fsact so does a loss - fairs fair, we've made it inot the final and theres been no coverage/mention of it on the 6pm news - how is the average joe meant ot see/hear about it.

I wasn't working on Sunday, so it was difficult for me to push the barrow on this one.

It deserved a place on Sunday, but remember television needs pictures. We didn't get them until Monday ... without pictures it's impossible to make a television story.

The curling story had been pre-organised and pre-shot ... that's why it goes in the bulletin.

Look at the end of the day, I do my best to get football and the Phoenix on air ... sorry we 'let you down' this time.
