Fairly sensible with Tauranga being the only major centre not hosting RWC matches (apart from Christchurch, for obvious reasons).

Wicked. My mum lives at the Mount less than 10 minutes away from Baypark Stadium. Very tempted for a road trip.

Okay, here we go again...just like Dunedin I need some local help setting up a venue.

If you are a local and have some suggestions, let's hear them.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

For the slow people here...

Does the "Was your turn" mean the game has been cancelled?

Or just some random in joke I don't understand?

The name of this thread when liverpoolfan1 started it was "Your Turn Tauranga".  I changed it to "Tauranga Pre Season".  The "(was Your Turn)" part of the name references the original name of the thread when it was started.

Standard forum practice when we rename threads, which we do sometimes for clarity, so that people realise it isn't a completely new thread about the same topic.

Don't think we'll be there.
Still not stopped sobbing after the Dunedin rout.
Don't even start me on predictions (sob)

Stiill, the best chant for me was Cosmo singing "Five four, we're gonna win five four, we're gonna win five four....."

Nostalgia isnt what it used to be...........

Will be there but probably with the old man, oldest boy and nephew. Any word or pre-game venues yet?

Its no longer a problem.

Yellow Fever should run a competition in conjunction with Oi Oi Edgecombe to win the opportunity to crash on his couch after the match!!!

Fever Party bus to the game?

We will never fully decide who has won the football.

Probably not as it's a 7 hour trip each way.

More likely a designated Fever motel and pub combo.  Convoy up Saturday, warm up Saturday night, game Sunday night, drive back Monday.

Enthusiasts please put yourself forwards.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

I highly suggest Imbibe next to Bayfair. Closest pub to Baypark (it's walking distance), decent place, fantastic stonegrill. They've did a promotion for the All Whites match vs. the Socceroos and have links with local coalface footy so chances are they'll be keen to get behind it.

Website: Imbibe is proud to announce that we are now the Official Bar of the Tauranga Football Club (promoting football in the Bay of Plenty) & welcome all Tauranga FC supporters & visitors to the Bay!

Guessing they mean Tauranga City United. Vaguely recall reading something like that in a match programme. Either way, they seem to like football, so they'll hopefully be receptive to some sort of deal.

Heh, can't disagree with that.

Either way, it's the closest pub I can think of. Worth investigating unless someone else has a better suggestion.
