I believe the game on January 4th 2015 is our 100th "home" A League fixture. This includes play off games and the travelling circus around the country. Can someone confirm this?

If this is true, how many have managed to attend the 98 thus far? I am one, but I know there are others. I was thinking about getting a Tee shirt done but will wait to see how many there are also in this position. It is a milestone that I am proud of and the others should be too.

Thats what shift swap forms and annual leave are for ? And to be honest, it has all been worth it. Even the dark bad days of losses and cold rainy nights of 3k+ i find shouting off at games almost theraputic!!

we were discussing what the worst game was on the weekend actually.

Came down to the ring of dirt, and that midweek perth game where the weather was stormy, the crowd was 3k and we lost in the last minute thanks to a Warner howler (iirc).

Best would have to be the home playoffs, and 6-0 over Gold Coast.

Any others to add?

Also I think I have attended around 90. Wish I had kept a proper count now.

Ring of dirt by a country mile. We lost, Brosque dived and chicken wire and being 150 yards from the pitch at ground level didn't help.

Feeling quite glad that is one of the few games I missed.

That is true. Having not gone I do feel like I missed out on some kind of 'experience' that has gone down in nix history.

The only good thing about Palmy was the 24 inch Pizzas at Nightfliers on the the edge of the square. My nephew and i ate one there before the game and went back about a year later and ate another one. They are a true challenge. On this point, trust me!

Sorry but i think its stretching it a bit to call it the 100th home game. Our home games are played at the Ring of Fire, yes the away home games have been labeled a home game  but to me there is no way they can be called home games. Also how have games that were what was it called A league promotion games been treated as they cant be classed as home games as well.

Great effort by all those who have managed it but for me our 100th home game will be the one that is the 100th at the Ring of Fire

Fair enough.

out of interest, would you include Hutt Rec games as home games?

I would as they're still in Wellington.

Yeah i see where your coming from, probably would class them as home games.as you say they are in Wellington.Dont mean to upset anyone but just cant see how you can class a game in Auckland or Dunedin a home game.

100th game in NZ is probably a better way of putting it.

Steve, you have a problem in understanding the term "home game"?

The A League fixtures that have been played around New Zealand were disgnated home games by the FFA.

Some, the club were told to have in other centers, most were games where the club were trying to spread the word and make some extra money. At the end of the day, they were designated "Home Games".

I have not included the pre season friendless nor the show piece games like the Galaxy, Boca or Newcastle and West Ham.

Yes i do understand what i dont understand is how you can seriously consider a game in Auckland to be a home game. They can call it what they like but the home of Wellington Phoenix is Wellington not Auckland Christchurch Dunedin or Palmerston North.

As Tegal said 100th game in New Zealand but no way will i accept it as our 100th home game.

Because it IS a home game. Jesus wept. Just because you don't wish to travel and that is your choice, doesn't mean anything in the big scheme of things. I suppose the games at the Hutt Rec will not be home games either in your opinion, but they are.

Not that I trust Wiki very much but 3/4 of the way down....

Total, Home, Away tables.

Technically yes. But it's more like a home game that the nix choose to give up.

The team is the WELLINGTON Phoenix, so I can see where Ballane is coming from by saying any game out of Wellington isn't really a home game as such. Hutt Rec is at least still in Wellington.

But is not at our "home" - Westpac. It seems one can play on words only if it suits the argument. But the real fact is, they are all games that are designated "Home" games when the A League draw is made pre-season. I would like all our games played at one stadium, but they are not and I go/went with the flow.

Yeah you're both right in different ways. They are technically home games, but I can see how ballane struggles to call them home games.

They're 'home and away' games....

I reckon there would be fewer than you think. It's really quite a brilliant effort! Especially considering some of those games were in Dunedin and just generally all over the country. That bill adds up.

I didn't mean to take away from the achievement, I can just see where you both were coming from. You should be very proud of it.

If you come by the backbencher at number 100 I will buy you a beer for sure, worth celebrating.

I must be pretty close in that I've only missed Dunedin and have made 3 away games.

Imagine if I had a beer for every game, my wife would not need to get me embalmed! Going to a game in Australia is on my bucket list. I am so jealous of the faithful that make the trips. Good on you all for doing that and respect too. I just wish I could get there one day and visit every Club so to speak.

Clearly there are different ways to apply the term "home game". Different people prefer one or another of these. Get over it.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Really suggest you reread my first post which offered congratulations on your achievement.Just because  i dont agree that a game in Auckland is a home game dosnt equal killing the mood.On that basis most threads on this forum are killed off.

Anyway, after celebrating our 100th home game, is it also going to be the 100th away game?

I noticed that Oi oi. Without this sounding like a cheap shot but this is exactly the sort of thing that perhaps should be making the newspapers instead of complaints about crowds. There are two mile stones coming up. Also how much publicity has there been about Siggys 150th game?
